I found out very quickly that nothing made my sisters, and sister-in-laws madder than to send their precious little urchins home to them with glue, dirt, grime and "stuff" all over their pretentious little designer clothing. I was constantly in trouble I can tell you! Well, I solved one of my many problems in this area by purchasing these nifty little glue sticks.
I always have projects ready for the little twerps when they show up; many of which require a lot of cutting, drawing and pasting. I was forever desperately washing clothing trying to remove glue stains and the like before the cubs were picked up by their fussy, neuortic and uptight parents. With these sticks this has cut a lot of that out. They are neat to use and when the little ones do get it all over the place, it is easy to wash out of their clothing and off of my table tops and off their grubby little (although I must admit...cute) hands. It, by the way, incase you are wondering, is easy to wash from dog fur when the little ones decide to decorate their four legged friends with cutout pictures, ribbons, etc.
Since I have noted that children like to use waaaay too much glue on their projects, these sticks are even more useful as they force the child to use less and be a bit neater in what they are doing. The last project we did was mounting dried leaves we had collected this summer and pressed.Read more ›
ROSS - I was using Ross brand glue sticks, and they were great for the job. But I ran out and couldn't find any more of the Ross brand at my local stores.
ELMERS - I then tried Elmer's glue sticks, but hated them. They left the area where I glued stuff really stiff...like, in an insane, "it's not regular paper, but cardboard"-kind of stiff. Plus, sometimes the pasted item was wrinkled upon drying. Worst of all, many of my pasted items started peeling off from the paper once glue dried, even after I made sure that whole gunks of glue were left on the paper.
AVERY - Finally, I tried these Avery glue sticks since my local Staples has been having a sale (4 sticks for $2.00). These Avery glue sticks are just like the Ross brand glue sticks in my opinion. The Avery glue sticks are like paste, in glue form, which I love. The great thing about these is, once you get it on your paper, if you make sure you spread it evenly on the paper, not leaving a gunk here and there, but leveling it on the paper, the result is superb. My pasted item sticks all the time to the paper after it dries. Plus, it doesn't leave the paper as stiff as the Elmer's Glue did. My notes can still bend and flex just as normal. The pasted item and my note paper are not wrinkled. My notes for class are ready to study from, without distortions to the paper or pasted item.
Summary: I highly recommend Avery glue sticks for those who want to paste paper on paper, especially if using this to make notes for class or other studying purposes.
I've also used the purple version of this glue stick and they seem to do about the same job.

Doesn't really make much stick. If it is permanent glue, shouldn't it make things like paper stay stuck together?Published 14 days ago by Daniel G.
