I haven't tried these on paper, but wanted to warn anyone interested in labeling plastic containers that they may want to consider other removable labels.
I'm going to start using these in files in lieu of Post-It's. Currently, I'll have an edge of a Post-It sticking out to call attention to something. Over time, I've had a problem with them falling off. With these guys, I can have the tab poking out, but the whole rest of the label (with my scribbled notes) will stay stuck until I want to peel it off. To make the note semi-permanent, all I need to do is pull the tab off and there's nothing left to bump...I have to work my nail under a corner to peel it off.
Pick up a pack or two and try them out.
They don't need batteries or any other power source, and haven't undergone a technological change in decades.
Why then would anyone go to the trouble of writing a review?
The answer is that, if the tables were turned, I would greatly appreciate be forewarned before wasting money...and time on these particular labels.
Specifics: when attempting to separate one label from the next, it was very difficult and
very time consuming..., and not always successful.
The chief/fatal complaint is that they do not adhere...do not stick...,and fail to become affixed
for much more than a minute or two, and then they simply fall off...regardless of the type of surface to which they were affixed.
As an after-thought, there should have been a millisecond of thought going into this simple purchase, but please consider carefully prior to parting with your money for something that will go from your hands into the trash can (the pathway for many, many consumer products made in China).
If I have given one person pause to consider, and then go on searching for a substitute set of labels, I will be gratified.

But the glue on these pads is so weak the paper curls up and off the plastic container surface and in some cases literally entirely falls off within an hour or so. Basically, the glue on these labels is only slightly stronger than that used on Post-It notes.
At least the glue isn't as weak as on Post-It's competitive products, such as:
Post-it® Super Sticky Removable Label Pads, Assorted Neon Colors and Sizes, 21 Pads, 525 Labels per Pack (2900-M21)
Post-it Tape Roll Removable Labels, White, 1 Inch x 700 Inches (2600-W)
I bought some of those Post-It labels too, and their glue was so weak all the labels literally fell off within 10 minutes.
(In case you're wondering, the containers were brand new and perfectly clean, and I live in Colorado, where it's very dry.)
Making them fully adhesive is great. The others, with the small strip of adhesive on one edge, tended to curl up and pull loose. I have some removable paper tape from a Japanese stationary store that is very handy because of the fully adhesive back. I couldn't easily use that tape as a book mark, because I had a sticky surface sticking out of the book. If I wanted to be able to easily lift the tape, or use it as a book mark, I had to fold over one end. These labels have a small plain paper tab to solve those problems. The tab even has a clean edge perforation so it can be easily removed if you don't need it. That is a brilliant little touch.
Having the fully adhesive back also makes this an excellent tool as a temporary tape to use when doing art and layout projects. When I need to tape, or glue, two parts together, I like to use temporary tape to get it perfectly aligned before I add the permanent adhesive. I always had to fold over the end of each piece of tape to make it easy to get back up when I was finished, but the tab takes care of that issue.
-----Special note for folks who like Origami:-----
I use removable paper tape when building modular origami projects.
Sometimes assembly of complex pieces is very difficult as the parts slip apart while you are building it. Modular origami pieces are designed to hook together tightly enough to stay together when the piece is complete, but getting them to that point is sometimes a real challenge.Read more ›
