Professional Look - Easy to Use

I bought these labels to use in a DIY spice rack project, therefore the name on each label would need to be different. From reading other reviews I was a bit concerned that Avery's online templates might be difficult to figure out. However it appears they may have corrected the old issues, as I found them fairly easy to use. You will find the URL for Avery's online template on the label package. Once you chose the product and the template you want, you then proceed to the customization tab. From there choose "Edit One". This will allow you to work one the text for one label at a time. (See photo).

If you are looking for the label to be precisely centered, you might need to work a little to get the design perfect. My design was more forgiving, so I didn't take the extra time to adjust. However the design was was very slightly off-center. For me this wasn't a problem, but I have included a picture to show the degree of adjustment that would be required.

As for the labels themselves, they are easy to use, high quality and have a good weight to them. Generally they are perforated well and are easy to remove from the backing. However a couple were a little more difficult and I ending up tearing a corner. To remedy this, I found that if I worked the edges up from the back of the label, by moving my fingers across the backing, the label would begin to lift free from the backing. Then I would be able to see if there were any areas that required special care.

I am very happy with my finished project as I added the labels to metal tins, which I am using as spice containers. I then put these on magnetic sheets that I applied to the inner door of my pantry. Great space saving spice rack!

Okay the labels themselves are perfect. Even though they are a glossy finish they do not take very long to dry and they look spectacular once they're printed. BUT THERE'S THE PROBLEM!!!

The Avery template designs that are premade on the website are okay...nothing special. But when you attempt to print them - through the Avery website's software - the labels are not centered on their predesigned label surface. Okay no problem. There is a "Make a Printer Adjustment" option on the last stage of the pre-printing preview. So you can make tiny or large adjustments to the alignment which is a great idea and they give you measurements as small as 1/32". So you make the adjustment and reprint. Then you find out it might have fixed the issue on one label but the rest of the sheet is still not aligned. So the only fix is for you to print one label at a time, re-measuring and re-aligning each time, changing the labels position from spot number 1. to 2. to 3. etc.... This is absolutely ridiculous. It is the absolute biggest waste of time and money. My printer is in perfect working condition and has no problems with alignment with any other projects I've thrown at it.

Another reviewer gave some basic instructions on how to make your own labels through Microsoft Publisher and then use the blank template for this exact round label (downloaded from Avery). I tried this option since I wasn't very fond of the pre-made designs available on Avery's website. Aaaaand it doesn't work very well either. There is no problem creating the label from scratch (I am somewhat of an expert at this since I have always done my own desktop publishing for my business). That part is no big deal. And you do need to save it in the correct GIF format. But when you go to insert the photo / label onto the blank label template, it literally places it off center...AGAIN! And there is no correct way to align it perfectly. In fact, I even tried settling for a version of my label simply fitting within the confines of the label's edge (even thought there was an uneven amount of white space around the edge of my design) and when I printed it, the images were up to 1/2" off in places. And sometimes it would be to the right, other times to the top, other times to the left - all on the same page from the same printint. It makes NO SENSE.

So even though the labels themselves are a fantastic product, the software, templates and arduous printing process make these pointless to purchase. If Avery would fix their issues I would rebuy these in a second.

Wedding Jam-Jar Favors

I purchased these labels for jam jar for my wedding favors and they turned out great! All my guests thought they looked very professional and I could not be happier on how they turned out.

I know that others have complained about the Avery online template tool, but I believe the tool was user friendly and allowed me to customize to my specific tatks. Take a look at the user provided images to see how they turned out. My only word of advice is to remember to print test sheets and match them up with actual label sheets. I had to adjust the horizontal and vertical alignment slightly to get everything to match up perfectly.

All in all, very happy with these label sheets and would purchase again next time I need something similar.

Besides not being the size I needed (a bit small) I am very happy with the quality of these labels. I used a Cannon ink jet printer and the labels didn't smear a bit. Crisp clean print on the bright white label looks nice. I use these on the lid and bottom of 4 oz tin cans for a wood finish product I make.

Avery has an easy to use web based design software that I used to make my labels.

i'm using a hp envy 4500 inkjet printer and the template download from the avery site and have used fireworks to design my own label. I don't use microsoft word, but rather the free version of Open Office. I read many reviews before deciding to purchase the product.

As far as my first print went, I did a test run on a blank sheet of paper then held that against the underside of the label sheet and put them up to the light to see if the template I used to create my labels matched the label sheet I would be printing on.

I don't have a 'print labels' option on my printer so just selected "other glossy..."...

I only put in one sheet of labels, (glossy side facing down) and printed my labels.

Worked like a charm. I'm very happy with the results and much more affordable than the likes of printing companies such as Vista print. It was really a hassle free print and I need not have worried.

As far as complaints that others mentioned about having to sign up for an account. I don't understand why people can't create an email address with one of the many free providers out there specifically for such things instead of using a personal email.

As far as the product quality goes. The cardstock used is glossy with a nice sheen. Once peeled off the sheet, they are super sticky with a crisp round edge and are super easy to peel off. Whilst the option is to print as close to the edge as possible, I've left about a .5mm space as that was my desired look.

With using the inkjet printer, there was no smearing and the colours are very vibrant. I've rubbed very very hard across the label about 5 mins after it was printed and I cannot rub any ink off the label. Great ink adhesion there.

A great product, easy to use and will take my products to the next level as far as marketing goes. Thank Avery.

Amazon did deliver on time also, however the box size was a tad ridiculous.

First pass at using the avery tab in my word application, correctly identified the product number and when it was time to print, everything was not aligned properly. Things printed better when i used the website, there were also more templates to choose from - however, some of my labels are not entirely centered straight which is a bummer.
