I thoroughly enjoyed the details on the planes, air operations, and flying procedures. Many sketches and pictures are also included. The only thing I wish were different are how the details are laid out - for someone not familiar with airplanes, it takes a couple read through on some sections to understand the processes.
The author details a loving family, and a lot of information on the perspective of a young man (as well as hindsight observations). Some of it is quite amusing. One note of caution - the author does not use foul language, but does detail dialogue where the "replaced" word is still considered inappropriate.
Overall, I'd give this book four out of five stars. I learned a lot, and was kept interested throughout the book. The author give plenty of situational detail and character thoughts. Christian principles are highlighted and practiced. I recommend this book for those who enjoy biographies, and some aviation history.
I was provided a copy of this book for an honest review.
Ilyan tells his story very well. It held my attention all the way through. Ilyan is an honorable man and it comes through in his heartfelt story. I look forward to reading more of his books.
