I want to fly. I did not do well in school mathematics. I really never understood math so I completely ignored it totally. I have to say that I now really love this book. I had to start it more than a few times before it took hold but it is now recognized as the spark I needed to push on with the maths involved in AirNav. I'm glad I stuck with it because it opened the door to all other Nav lessons I come across. Get It.

The book is well written and is a great read for a new or experienced pilot. I highly recommend it to any pilot wanting a good foundation or excellent review of the many different aspects of aircraft navigation. The book specifically covers global navigation in exceptional detail. Nice job to the auther Donald J. Clausing. After reading this book I sought out other titles written by him for personal reading.

This book is 14 years old now, and sometimes can show its age, but still goes more into depth about how navigation systems work and came to be than the FAA handbooks do. I haven't read this book cover to cover, but anytime I've been confused about an aspect of nav aids or anything else I've been able to clear it up. It is written in an understandable way. Im almost finished with my IFR training and found this book very helpful. I'd personally recommend this book.

This book deals mainly with the basic "old" stuff.

I was expecting to get much more information on using modern navigation systems that are common today - GPS, FMS, EFIS etc.
