Also, I just want everyone to know that the 3rd book is from Chyna's POV and the 4th book is from both Jack/Ramsey's POV. I didn't do my research ahead of time and thought this was a 5 book series.... It's a TRILOGY with some extras thrown in there.
The one thing I have realized is that her writing of this series has created a definite and occasionally maniacal fan base. You are either Team Jack or Team Ramsey. It's day and night. I made my choice and no matter how many times I've re-read these books I remain true to my choice. It's a frustratingly amazing tale that leaves me with an aching heart and a mind left to ask...what if?

I'm an angst lover, and to me, this was angst heaven. The little looks, the touches, the words left unsaid... sigh! All of it. I just ADORED it. The best thing is the Linde makes you feel exactly the way she wants you to along the ride. Sometimes you're yelling at her to choose one guy over the other, but then you have a scene with them and think well wait a dang second. You love the man, you hate the man, you love another man, you hate that other man - it's constant confusion and ache. The steamy scenes are HOT and fresh, the romance is sweet and touching, and Chyna may just be the best friend I've ever read in a book.
Overall, this was an insanely well-written and developed story and if you're an angst addict like I am, then I know you'll thoroughly enjoy it. 5 stars!
Why is Lexi a heroine? I don't like her. I don't sympathize with her. I think she's an amoral idiot.
And Jack isn't much better. Who cares if he's hot and built? He's an opportunistic jerk.
And did no one proofread for grammar and spelling??? I had to reread some of the sentences to try and decipher what the author was trying to say and it was because the wrong word was used.
Update: finally slogged through the rest of the first book. It hasn't changed my opinion; if anything, the anticlimactic ending lowered the book. And it wasn't just editing that was the problem, some of the phrasing in the book was really cumbersome. Very glad the whole "series" only cost me a couple bucks.
