Another good visit with the Holmes Family! This time, it's Reid's turn. He meets Brooklyn when she starts to work for Alex's growing construction company, and wants to dislike her, but her Black Girl Magic proves to be too much to resist. I love that Brooklyn was so different from our usual heroine; she was into comics and cosplay, a self-proclaimed nerd (or blerd, lol), with a unique vibe. Poor Reid didn't stand a chance. Speaking of Reid, while handsome and fine as hell (I mean, he is a Holmes!), he also wasn't the usual hero. He had issues that he struggled with, which made him very real and relatable to me. I love a sexy, alpha billionaire as much as everybody else, but it's also nice to read about someone you might actually find in real life. Loved the way these two encouraged each other to face their fears. Although they seemed to be opposites, they were perfect for each other.

I've been low-key worried about Willow and Harrison throughout this part of the series. And just when I thought they'd worked through whatever issues they're having, they dropped that bombshell at the end. Please,please, please let their story be next! I need to know what's going on. And why!

Also...Jonathan. Ma'am! He keeps popping up being gorgeous, fine and helpful. He intrigues me. Got my fingers and toes crossed that you're cooking something up for him.

Awaken Me: The Holmes Brothers Book 6 is by Farrah Rochon. This is the last book of the Holmes brothers unless Farrah decides differently. I don’t know where she would go with this since it is a family series; but I would love to see. This series was great. All the books were enough different to keep my interest. They weren’t so cookie cutter that it bored me. This book is about Reid.
Reid is the youngest Holmes brother and he was definitely spoiled and admitted it. Because he was the youngest, the others had their circles of friends before he came along and they tended to leave him out. In fact, he was left out of a meeting for the foundation they were setting up in their Mother’s memory. Indina sent it to him by mistake. They thought he was a screw-up and didn’t listen to his suggestions. He felt intimidated by the others as Harrison was a lawyer, Ezra was a world known journalist, and Indina an Interior decorator for major businesses. He was constantly going out with a different girl, almost nightly. What made this gorgeous man decide to try to date tomboyish Brooklyn LeBlanc? Could he live down his reputation?
Brooklyn LeBlanc was the new site coordinator for Harrison Construction. She had come from LeBlanc and Sons which had closed its doors. This wasn’t her first choice of a job; but it was one she was well qualified for. Because she was little and looked younger than she was, she was often overlooked. However, she had another dream- to become a comic illustrator. Can she do it?

Bravo Farrah. You really captured the emotional rollercoaster of Reid and Brooklyn's inner demons. Yet, allow the storyline to unfold were it was heartfelt to see them support each other's misgivings. Alex was a great supporting character because his compassionate side and ability to support others spoke volumes. The epilogue was sad and I look forward to what is to come for Willow. As she was the anchor for so long to Reid's happiness.

I liked Reid and Brooklyn's story. It was refreshing to have a story where the couple did not become intimate immediately. Their relationship built over time as did their attraction and love. I liked how both of them had similar insecurities/fears and helped the other one to believe in themselves. They supported each other and made me feel like their love could last. I liked reading about the other characters that were part of the Holmes family and honestly, am hoping that the next story is Harrison and Willow. Thanks for writing another great book Ms. Rochon! You have a fan for life.

I think Reid and Brooklyn are my favorites. I loved witnessing their progression in love. And, though found both of them frustrating at times, these characters and love still seemed real to me. They went through things real couples deal with, except in a condensed version. I rock with them and their love.
my only real problem was, the start and stop of everything. we would be flowing then all of a sudden be back at square one. but I can't really fault Ms. Rochon for that, because for a lot of folks, that's how real relationships go. I rock hard with this.

Brooklyn, a black comic-loving nerd, meets Reid, the Holmes family charmer. Awaken Me proves girls like her do get hunks like him as readers like us get to delight in this story about finding love while facing one's fears and pursuing one's dreams.

Reid and Brooklyn's love for each other grew with each pushing and encouraging the other to go after what they really wanted. Brooklyn and Reid matured throughout the story. I enjoyed the read because old-fashioned courting was done by Reid.
Glad you caught us up on how the other family members were doing. You have got to write another book following up on Harrison and Willow, plus the weddings that haven't occurred yet. You WOC are excellent writers !

Ms. Rochon tackled learning disabilities,business ventures, new budding love, and aging parents in this wonderful Holmes family novel. The attraction between Reid and Brooklyn was evident from the beginning trailer scene. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their drive to dream big and strive to make them reality. It was infectious. I love every book in this series but this book is now my favorite. Five stars of sensual sinsations
