I kept skipping over this book because of low number of reviews and the dark main character and I am so glad I finally picked it up. It was fantastic. I have read every recent well reviewed litrpg I could find in the last couple weeks and this is one of the best. Right next to The Land, Emerilia, And Ascend Online among others. This is a great piece of litrpg by a great author.

I'm not one for writing reviews, about anything really, but this book has worked its magic. Gotta say when i read the summary i expected a standard, guy plays game and becomes this big hero cliche. I can happily say I was off by a mile. My biggest gripes with this are the main char leveling pace, but i'm use to that after so many litrpgs, and a few grammar issues i noticed. Neither gripe really take away from the story, and are few and far between for grammar. If you like a good litrpg, or just a good book in general than I'd recommend this one. Look forward to seeing how the story will continue in a hopeful sequel.

I'm a long time mmo're and this book captures both the spirit and the visceral experience of a real game while offering an engrossing story. I've always been one for a good villain especially when you come to understand that they are doing terrible things for good and noble reasons. A great read which I wholly recommend.
Great story. Intricate plot of how dark side power is used to overcome very manipulative evil opponent. Good action.

Great story. Really like how the dark side is used to overcome a difficult opponent. Great use of how rules can be manipulated to win against impossible odds in this story version of a role playing game. Lot of well written story lines that are tied together quite well. Very good action. Will get sequel.

This was my first foray into the world of LitRPG (a story about a role playing game). This guy does a fantastic job, especially since he is writing 2 stories in 1! It's a great story, and very well written. Highly recommended if you like fantasy and even more so if you have ever played an RPG, (like D&D)

This book is definitely a new look on vr stories and necromancers for me. The ability of this story's game and AI Controller well beyond anything I have seen in book, manga, or anime. The author has done a wonderful job with this story and the character development is phenomenal. Can't wait to read the next book.

Just fantastic. Realistically dark and good character progression. The personal issues and emotional problems were somewhat simple/common, but well-written and the story more than makes up for it.
The MC is a little slow on the uptake for me (come on, killing both should have been obvious), but his learning curve is realistic when you factor in Alfred.
Truly, a great read. I look forward to burning through book two.

Travis is a fine writer and story teller, I enjoyed this book! Can't wait for the next one. His setup of the game mechanisms in a book are great but the real life part of the book were better. Characters were solid, story was fluid, writing was well done. Thanks for the good book Travis.

Incredible. I'd only read one book in this genre, and it had been merely OK. This one popped up as a recommendation, was rated highly, and was on sale for only 99 cents as a Kindle book, so I took a chance. Wow, I'm glad I did. It usually takes me weeks to finish an eBook because I'll only read them while waiting in line etc. This one? I couldn't put it down. I blew through it, bought the second one immediately after, and finished it just as quickly. Its hard to believe its a first effort of a new author. I'm looking forward to many more.
