This book is written in a whimsical style that makes you feel lol you're sitting right in front of the author. She makes technology fun and inviting and even if you aren't a nurse you can learn something about gadgets in this book. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel more confident using technology, especially those in the healthcare field.

Brittney Wilson really is a Nerdy Nurse. This book is a good resource for the Newbie, Intermediate and Tech Savvy Nurse. As with medicine and nursing, technology is ever changing and growing. Brittney does as good job of covering various topics from EHR, computer systems, Search engines, tablets in healthcare, Google, Social Media and much more.
I thought the "Nerdy Notes" brought a nice touch to the book too

Google was covered and discussed in detail and I would liked to have seen a Section on YouTube, Since Google owns it. YouTube can be a great way to educate and inform patients. The Mayo Clinic does a great job of leveraging the Power of YouTube. Overall, i think this helps widen the gate for better patient care while utilizing and embracing technology. "Always in the best interest of the patient" I would recommend this book to any nurse. Cesar D. RN, Nurses Rock!!

A must have for the nurse who is afraid of technology; it's easy to read, understand and it's fun! You will no longer be afraid of computer programs, blogs, or social media. It will expand your knowledge in a not-so-frightening way! I highly recommend it.

I'm a pretty savvy technology-capable nurse, but I too learned some great new tricks and tips from The Nerdy Nurse's Guide to Technology . I love Brittney's easy going conversational writing style. She makes the process so comfortable. Nurses typically are very old school and reluctant to change so those who didn't grow up in the profession with technology are often scared to death of computers and anything more technical than a 4-color pen! If you are in that category, this book will be your best friend as you find yourself forced to leave the dinosaur age behind and enter the realm of EHR and IT.

Thanks to the nerdy nurse's blog, I was able to find all the information I needed to become interested in informatics nursing. When the book was released I was very excited to find an easy to read reference to a very complicated area of healthcare. I've now worked in informatics for more than two years and still find all of this information helpful and relevant to nursing today. Not only does this book cover informatics nursing, but it also covers the basics of everything a nurse would need to know about technology, social media and healthcare today. The book is easy to follow and I use it as a reference frequently. Great book - I recommend to everyone!
