Her work is also included in Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year, (2005 and 2006) and Attack of the Political Cartoonists.

I love to write, and friends and family are always asking me to write their "stuff" for them. But lately it has been nagging at me that I want to make sure I don't screw up the grammar. Cause now you can't "unwrite" something once it is mailed or posted online. Right?
A couple of days ago I had to go to a local bookstore for a book that one of my kids needed right away. I finally remembered to ask the sales person if they had any books on grammar. She figured out where they might be located, and pulled out the Strunk and White which was what I had hoped they would have. Then she said, "Oh and there is is one by a a local author!" The second I saw that it was Becky Burckmyer I went crazy! She was my neighbor growing up. (Are you listening, Oprah?) She was a huge inspiration to me. One of the smartest and coolest women I have ever met! She is in a class of her own!
If anything, I was afraid that she would hold back and this would be just another boring "textbooky" thing. Well that is just SO not the case! This is a great book! A lot of humor and a lot of information that doesn't feel like your high school English teacher! She just nailed it! It's all in there! Once you get this in your hands, you will want to read it cover to cover. Not your average reference book. It will motivate even a slacker writer to do better.
So buy it. In fact, buy two! (My sister just tried to swipe mine! Yours will too!) We were reading it together and laughing out loud at some of her remarks. Whatever level of writing or reading you do, you'll love this one!
I am not recommending this just because I know the author. The book is just great! Wherever you stand on the scale of grammar, you will feel very comfortable with this book!
How funny that I should be the first one to post a review of this book here! I wasn't even aware that it existed, until I had an opportunity to need it and come across it!
Congratulations Mrs Burckmyer. I am very excited for you about this publication. This is a book that needs to be out there!
I hope that trillions of people will order a copy. And the reason I hope this is just because, if they do, there will be way more people who will be influenced by YOU! Not just your grammar advice, but your whole style.
Thank you for writing this book! It will never be far from my desk!
