Axel is the first book in the Sons of the Apocalypse MC series by Roxanne Greening and the first book that I have read from the author. I just love a good Motorcycle Club book, especially one with a really bad boy as the main male character! Often, the main female characters are weak, selfish, or just plain clueless. It was so refreshing to read a book where the main female character, Tessa, is an alpha female, a kick boxer and has no issues standing up for herself.
There are a lot of MC books out there, but I find Axel‘s story line unique and I quickly became engrossed and read this in one sitting! In this story, the club president and his old lady was killed several years ago. This lead to his son, Axel, a senior in high school, to become the new club president.
Tessa’s mother has to move around a lot for her work and they recently move into town. She meets Axel and his twin sister Ella on the first day of school. The sexual tension between Tessa and Axel is pretty thick, but he doesn’t claim her until we discover someone from Tessa’s past threatening her. Tessa, understandably, breaks down and Axel and the MC are there for her.
I adore this story and look forward to reading more in the series!

Based off the reviews I've read - this version I've read has been cleaned up quite a bit. There are still massive amounts of errors, mostly noticeable in the lack of commas, periods, or apostrophes, and then we have the spelling errors or wrong word being used.
In this version Axel does NOT cheat though I think the author left the original version's guilt in it and he never tells Tessa he didn't cheat, just looks guilty and lets her think he does. Of course, after being on the run for 3'weeks all he had to do is say he wanted to marry her and he was forgiven.
The whole high school motorcycle club tried to be explained off but it was weak, as were the explanations for Tessa's fighting abilities and lack of them when faced with her ex but I don't mind ignoring the real world while I'm reading so it didn't bother me too much.
The one scene that DID make me want to yell though? When they find the h and she is fighting with her ex and axel tries to step in but his friend stops him and says that they could get her hurt if they try to help. She is about 4 months pregnant with twins and has a cut down her arm, she's laying on her back being punch but they don't step in? It was stupid stupid stupid and a lame excuse to have the h show off her fighting skills again.
Tessa has been raised by only her mom since her father passed away. Her mother constantly relocates them due to her job. Tessa has developed a strong and speak her mind type of attitude.
Axel takes an interest in Tessa and wants to get her out of his system. Tessa feels she has nowhere else to turn when a guy from her past is stalking her but to Axel and his brothers in the MC.
I recommend you read this book. The characters development was done well. I enjoyed that the two main female characters are strong woman who speak their minds and can take care of themselves in most situations. Amazingly enough the men in the club seem to respect quality in them as well. Check out the journey of Axel and Tessa and where it leads them. Will them end up together or apart.
