The features available in this Axis PTZ Network Camera are endless. One feature I would like to highlight is being able to save specific locations for the Camera to be able to automatically move to after a specified duration. This is called Guard Mode. You can also set the Home Location & if the Camera get's moved, after a specified duration it will automatically return "home" so you don't miss any recordings.

It's very responsive & when there has been issues, a power cycle almost always fixes the issue. The other times, the camera has either not been installed correctly & water has gotten inside of it, or a power surge. I highly recommend this camera for the features, quality & maintenance. I have several of these models in the field & some have been in place for several years & are still running strong.

I bought this camera with the intent to use as a public webcam.
First the pros...
1) Nice daytime images
2) Pan, tilt, zoom features are nice
3) It's weather proof
4) Built in server (IP camera) can be seen and operated through browser over the Internet

The cons...
1) Has big ugly seam on the plastic dome that create a blurry line in the cameras image
2) Even though rated with a low lux the camera goes in and out of focus at night even in well lit areas is blurry (Manual focus doesn't help)
3) Guard Tour allows automatic movement between preset locations but stops at the last preset a minimum of 10 minutes before looping again so it is not a continuous loop. That makes it worthless as an embedded webcam for visitors to see.
4) A special script would need to be written to embed the camera with presets only for visitors who you don't want changing the cameras views, focus, and control panel settings. The basic page accessed through a browser only allows presets included with PTZ, focus, iris sliders leaving the camera open to change when accessed anonymously. Hope that made sense:-)
5) Axis does not support using the camera embedded in a website. You will have to hire a developer or DIY (No supported scripts)

In a nutshell the camera is ok if you don't care about night viewing, if the seam in the dome doesn't bother you, if it's going to be more of a hands on camera rather than a webcam for the public.

Personally I feel I paid a lot of money to have such limitations and I wish I could recommend something better but I don't know of any. Keep in mind if you buy an expensive camera like this and don't like it you'll be screwed with a large restocking fee. I bought mine at 2020PC.
