I thought you couldn't turn off the light and that made me sad. see video. The manual (one page flyer, see scan of it in customer images) over and over and no mention. Thanks to a reply to my fuming review I discovered the answer - Just hold the color change button down and it turns off. I TRIED that before writing the bad review but thought it didn't work because... you have to hold it down for a long time. (5 seconds is an eternity)PROS:1) brightest of any keyboard I have ever seen. I have had a saitek Saitek Eclipse Backlit Keyboard - Red LED ( PZ30AUR ) and a logitech Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (the logitech was the WORST, very very dim light even at the brightest setting)2) the colors are awesome, surprisingly the pink color is very eye catching.3) It is a quiet typer, not much clickety-clack keeping people up at night. Some people might like clickety clacking though so it is just a personal preference to be aware of.4) great price, cheaper and easier than hacking my logitech keyboard with a brighter DIY led upgrade. (I looked online and it didn't look easy at all)5) not much bleed through of the light / back lighting in between the keys, making it look very nice and clean. look at the other competing back-lit keyboards. you can see a massive amount of bleed around the backside of the keys, turning it into a visual mess!CONS:1) the space bar is nearly flush with the wrist mount so you might have a harder time reaching it depending on your typing style.2) people have mentioned how annoyingly small the del button is. if you use DEL a lot that might be an issue.3) I don't like the feel of the key travel (they are listed on their site as a membrane switch) but that is just a personal preference.4) the keys are flat and smooth, not contoured or cylindrical so if you are used to that feel of a raised edge to help typing then this will leave something to be desired.5) Cruddy manual. not that you need one but I did and it didn't mention turning off the key lighting at all, hence the video6) I'm not familiar with the reputation of this company but at this price who cares.7) No dedicated calculator button and it is light on other media buttons. I guess you could customize/remap them with software like autohotkey.8) no USB pass through hub - but one wasn't advertised. If you want one just buy one. This one is my favorite: Satechi 12 Port USB Hub with Power Adapter & 2 Control Switches9) no USB-PS2 adapter included - but one wasn't advertised and new computers don't need them anyway. (SIDENOTE: Sometimes when you are diagnosing a failing computer you NEED a PS2 keyboard, so always have one lying around. otherwise if the USB controller gets damaged/crashes/uninstalls/whatever you cant do squat in the BIOS and can't press F8 on boot to enter safe mode to diagnose the problem. Native PS2 is best but if you don't want to have an extra keyboard around (always handy for recovery from spilled drinks though this one would be okay with that: Kensington Washable USB/PS2 Keyboard with Antimicrobial Protection!) you can buy an adapter such as this StarTech.com Replacement USB Keyboard to PS/2 Adapter - F/M (GC46FMKEY) to have just in case.)Docked a star for having flat keys. Im a hunt and peck kinda guy and I dont like my fingers sliding off and pressing other keys. not much of an issue in real life though.That said, it is probably one of the best lighted keyboard available (the logitechs are waaay too dim for me, they call it a "feature"), but before you ask - "WHY YOU NO TURN OFF LIGHT???" try holding down the color changing button and counting to ten.
