The only drawbacks to this is the lack of good restaurant/hotel picks -- but I found that easily on tripAdvisor with lots of up to date info and reviews. This worked fine booking hotels ahead of time, and finding restaurants once we were there, since we had internet access. But without internet access, this book would have failed for such hotel/restaurant info.
Its layout is logical and useful. I used this on a recent three-week trip to the Azores. I'm an experienced and demanding traveler. This Bradt Guide was much better than the competing guide books. Kudos!
Just buy it!
Downside: for a novice traveler, this did not cover basics like which electronic converters to purchase, or an in-depth understand of public transportation.
