I have a few tips for you.
1. Unlike the recommended ratio, I usually mix 1 part of product with 1.5 parts of water+apple cider vinegar. I take equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water. Apple cider vinegar is too harsh and leaves the skin very dry. So I prefer diluting it. The overall mixture looks like a paste and is easy to apply.
2. Apply the mixture thickly. This is very important. If it is very thin, by the time you wash it off, it will be very tight. It will be painful too. It leaves red patches on the face. I leave it on for 30 mins. It will still be moist when I wash.
3. Don’t keep it on for too long. The moment you feel it’s tightening, wash it off immediately. I once left it on longer and I couldn’t even open my mouth. The problem with this is it will stretch your skin over time and it will loose it tightness.
4. I saw many reviews recommmending not to wash it in sink. It can clog the pipes over time. So what I usually do to is, pat warm water on the mask. This makes it moist and you can feel it relaxing its hold on your face. I then use a wet tissue to wipe it off. Finally use warm water to completely clean the face.
5. After the mask is completely washed off, apply a good moisturizer immediately. I use Conconut oil or Jojoba oil to moisturize my skin. Else, you will wake up with a very dry and irritating skin.
You won’t see immediate results. The first time I applied, I had little bumps all over my face for 2 days. After that it smoothened out. Every time after that, I saw visible difference 2 hours after applying the mask.
Hope this helps.

I was asked to return the product for a refund. Now, I have to go to a post office in this COVID-19 quarantine period, I don't have a printer at home to print the return shipping label and print shops are closed.
They refused to send me a replacement product and asked me to make another purchase where I'll have to pay for shipping ( I'd rather get a replacement non-expired product and not have to risk contracting Coronavirus/infecting vulnerable people while returning goods that are hopefully scheduled to be destroyed anyway than receive monetary refund. Plus, I bought crap that I don't need alongside this to get free shipping originally).
I bought this product online so that I won't have to leave my house in this Coronavirus pandemic (for safety and convenience) and to get relaxing facials & mudbaths to ease my anxiety. This purchase has given me the exact opposite effect and upped my anxiety. I would rate it zero stars if I could.
I would have thought that Aztec would vet the products that they release to customers for quality control and have better customer service.
I use it for clay facials (so calming) once a week or if I'm stressed.
I use 2 tbsp of apple cider vinager,
1 tbsp filtered water and
1 or 2 tbsp of the clay to create a loose paste and leave on for 20 minutes whipe off then use a little of the coconut oil and vitamin E moisturizer to it for added benefits to counter the dry sensation the facial leaves. Left over I add to the detox bath only use 1 or 2 cups of the mixture
1 cup of sea salt, clay and epsom salt
2 cups baking soda
this bath soak I cant praise it enough its so calming my daughter just gets one a week it helps her focus and it calms down her sensory over loads and makes her sleep very deeply for the week. If she misses a week it really shows with chaotic sleep habits ect. My daughter has autism so every little bit helps. The first 2 baths if your like me you'll break out but by the 2nd or 3rd facial it cleared right up I just recommend if you have problem skin like its written in the instructions use it 2 times a week until the issue clears up.
I'm very interested in trying to make the tooth paste aswell.
I use this for both my hair and face.
In terms of effectiveness, this clay is amazing. I have super coily (not curly, coily) hair, so my coils are tight, meaning brushing or combing it is a mess. After just one use of the clay on it, my hair was extremely curly, in a defined way, rather than the tangled mess it was prior to the mask. When I first started using the clay, I only used it with ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) - the Bragg's Organic brand because that's what I grew up on. It foams up a bit when you first pour it in, but nothing crazy. About the second or third time I used it for a hair mask, I added a few more things in. I have really dry hair so I added catsor oil, vitamin E, coconut oil, Argan oil, and keratin oil. I mixed the oils in with the clay first so I didn't add too much ACV. Once I rinsed out my hair, it was ridiculously soft and well-moisturized, I didn't need to condition it.
As you can probably imagine, it's a little messy to put on, it is clay after all. Despite that though, as long as you make a decent paste, and not a watery consistency, it stays in place and doesn't slide around or splatter your floor.
Note: I don't have any acne, but some dark spots, or darker areas of my face. For face use, I wash and lightly exfoliate my face first, then use a derma roller, before leaving the mask on for about 20 minutes. Each time my face looks much clearer, and smoother (and this important because I have oily skin so my face usually has this clean albeit not refreshed look to it, so this mask really helped). I eventually ran out of ACV because I forgot to buy more, and using water works just the same. I would recommend using just water anyway, if you have sensitive skin.
I just got my second order today, because I use the clay pretty often now, and that's because it works. And works well! 100% recommend it.
I also have really sensitive, dry skin and this stuff was terrific on my pregnancy acne. And by sensitive, I mean that my eyes have swollen shut from Dove hypoallergenic cleanser. Just remember to moisturize afterwards and you are golden.
This face mask makes your face red after you take it off. It improves circulation in your face which I feel helps heal your blemishes. I use it once a week and I always mix it with apple cider vinegar NOT water. It just doesn’t mix as easy with water. It neutralizes the apple cider vinegar so it doesn’t burn when you apply it, it just tingles. This mask is amazing and it lasts ages!!! Just bought the two pound container but the one pound lasted me a year!!!! You’ll have to play around with the consistency to get it the way you like but it won’t disappoint you. I’ve given some to my mom and she says it tightened her pores and made her face feel very smooth!
Pros: It's a great price for the amount of clay. The amount of clay was actually more than expected, which is awesome. We love that it's packed in a nice sturdy container, it just feels much more quality this way. She loves that it's "calcium" bentonite clay, which apparently is more healing than sodium bentonite clay she says, and also harder to find for a decent price. After trying it out with just apple cider vinegar, our skin felt soft and looks brighter. Very refreshing feeling. Some of my acne seem to have calmed down and is less red. It's been an hour now since I used the mask, and usually my face would be super oily by now - but it's not after using the clay mask.
Cons: We wish there was a seal on the inside of the container because when I opened it, clay powder started to spray and pour everywhere and around the rim of the container. It's just a bit messy, but luckly its just clay so it's easy to clean.
Final thought: I recommend anyone with acne to try this product, especially people with oily skin like myself. It's also great for those who are into DIY skincare stuff. The quality of this product is great and the price is amazing. I would buy again when this container runs out.
Tip, if you wear natural deodorants, try putting the mask on your under arms. The mask eliminates the bacteria that causes you BO. Your natural deodorant will work perfectly if you do this every few days.
I don’t have a before pic cuz i hated taking pics when my hair dried up and got frizzy. In the pic though, that’s after a good 13 hours with my hit out and my curls were still defined :)
