Azure is the story of enemies who become something so much more as they come to know and understand each other. It's a story of moving past blind prejudice and finding the light of truth. Vance and Nora's budding relationship is heartwarming and touching to follow. And painful as well, when circumstances drag them apart and Vance ends up in terrible danger. The feelings he develops for another werewolf who helps him through his ordeal are very true to the sort of thing which happens when two people suffer through a traumatic event together. The following love triangle is believable and well done. It's hard to decide who you hope Vance ends up with, the strong willed and fierce Nora, or the bubbly and resilient Gem.
This is an intense book with strong themes sure to haunt you long after you've read the final page and is by far the best in the series. Azure pulls no punches when it comes to harsh topics such as hatred, torture, and murder. It's not for the faint of heart. But the overall message of love's healing power is an uplifting experience that will leave you breathless.
Vance can’t seem to kill her, even though that’s probably the practical way to go. Instead, he’s drawn to this brash and stubborn young Hunter who’s done everything in her power to rise his ire. She, in turn, watches him care for the other wolves and use his special traking skills to find a bunch of lost hikers. She can’t help it, and she falls for him. But her father is an Extremist Hunter, and to him, the only good werewolf is a dead one.
Caught by Nora’s father, Vance is lost in Lobotraz. Werewolf hell. His time in Lobotraz becomes a defining moment for Vance. She will do anything to rescue him. He will do anything to rescue the other wolves. Jaze steps in and everything goes to chaos. I won’t tell you more and spoil the plot, but it gets pretty intense.
I would recommend this series as a whole but if you can remove book right now it would be this one.
