This was the second one of these I ordered. I bought a second one because the first failed when I noticed the attachment bolt was stripped. I thought it might be because i cross threaded it so I ordered a replacement. I installed the replacement very carefully and all seemed fine. Took it to the range, fired a few rounds, retightnend (usual SOP right?) started to zero. while trying to zero the entire mount fell off the weapon and the attachment bolt was stripped again.

I haven't had the same durability issues as other users but suggest you pass and get a real mount. I have it mounted on a M1A standard and the scope sits incredibly high. I have tested the return to zero and it should be return to the range to find the zero! Please pass on this one and get a Sadlak or Arms 18, you wont be disappointed.

I bought two of these B-Square mounts #18514 for my M1A... perhaps 6 years ago. I bought the second one figuring, "I want to get a night-scope 'some day', so I'll get two of these things, since they're on sale!!"

The one I'm using has held up, so far. No problems yet, after about 150 rounds. Although, after reading another review about the aluminum threads stripping-out on two units, I'm becoming worried about the longevity of this product. And, I've never had occasion to 'test' the company-declared return-to-zero aspect.

I -finally- was able to purchase a M845 night-scope a couple of months ago. And, I discovered that the 1913/Picatinny scope-base (factory-installed) won't work with this B-Square mount. I ended up buying a steel/blued, Picatinny base for my 243-Win rifle, since I'm interested in hunting coyotes at present. But, I definitely want a quick-change Picatinny mount for my M1A, to be able to use this night-scope.

B-Square uses Weaver-style "grooves and lands" on the 18514 rail. Please understand, "Weaver-style" (as "style" implies) means sort-of/kind-of like Weaver-something-something.

1913/Picatinny mount-rails are cut to military specifications: one Picatinny mount will be cut the same as another Picatinny mount, per military specs. AND... Picatinny mounts WILL accept Weaver-style rings; therefore, Picatinny mounts are more versatile.

I sent an email through B-Square/Safariland's website 6 weeks ago, and I ALSO spoke with a Customer-Service about this issue 3 weeks ago and requested info on a product with Picatinny specs: ZERO response to both actions.

Bottom line: 1) the 18514 is not versatile. 2) the metallurgy (aluminum) is questionable. 3) the company is (so far) unresponsive to customer concerns.

Good product, fair price, and swift service, but rings w/scope mount not useful with my scope. The included rings with this mount may work for your scope however.
