My 2-year-old daughter has a very easy time with this step stool and has started going to the toilet on her own. It has some little traction marks to help with slipping. The size is perfect for climbing onto a toilet. It is probably too short for use at the sink for a 2-year-old. It is too heavy for a small child to easily move. It is bulky. It is best for a place where it can stay permanently, (e.g., a child's bathroom.) One of the steps was dirty on arrival. I believe it can be cleaned, but I haven't taken the time to scrub it with soap. I did wash it with water, and the stain only partially came off. Over all, the quality is good. It is cute. I purchased some folding stools (single step) for other bathrooms. I prefer this one. I will probably purchase a second for our basement.

This stool is very cute and fairly easy to put together (they could drill out the holes for the screws a little better, but it's doable by hand and would be super easy with a drill). It was very uneven when finished, but it was easy to fix with a rubber cabinet bumper (or felt furniture pad or similar), so I still give it 4 stars. It feels pretty sturdy and works well for my toddler.

I almost didnt buy this because of the bad reviews. Unfortunately there are going to be manufacturer errors when it comes to buying wood items. I would imagine its only 1 out of many that ends up having flaws. Mine is perfectly level. One thing that may cause people to have one that is not level could be tightening one side all the way before screwing them all about halfway in and then screw in one screw on the left and the screw parallel to it next and go down doing that until they are all done. Tightening them all on one side first could make it a little wonky I think. The screws were a little hard to screw in tightly with the wrench provided but luckily we had a wrench that made it much easier but if you dont it is still do-able. The color and steps are perfect. Just the right about of varnish where they wont get splinters, and the grip on the step made with the grooves is a nice touch. The price of this stool for what you get is a great value.
