For the duration of this album I was teleported to another dimension. I'm not a music critic so I wont pretend to be on here. However, as a fan ...no...a child of HipHop I love how multifarious the culture has become. And then a SHIFT happens and the music genre that birth so many different forms comes back to its original self. Comes back to the state of NY that gave it life. This album is an example of that SHIFT.And the collective force that is the PRO ERA camp are shiny examples that HipHop is forever strong and very much alive.

I miss you Capital Steez.

One love to the whole PRO ERA crew.

Truly great. For being 20 years old (today actually) every other young rapper in the game should be looking at Joey for how to do this s*** correctly. I among many love the sound of 90's Hip Hop, that's where it was bred and some would say perished. Amongst the radio trash now, Black Hippy, Pro Era and A$ap Mob are carving a deep groove into what will in coming years be known as Hip Hops true rebirth with this dude at the front. This entire album is a master class on how to make catchy, heartfelt, passionate music without cutting away your integrity. Do yourself a favor and get this album. Do music a favor and get this album.

Listening to this album puts a smile on my face :) Reminds me of these good old days back in 93, listening to Black Moon & Souls Of Mischief. The ironic thing is that Bada$$ wasn't even born back then. Nice disc...

The only bad thing that I can think about this album is that when I listen to it, I know I slept on his first 2 mix tapes.
This album is really good, and brings a feel of the 90's that I haven't heard in a long time. It is really quite astonishing to know that he was only 18 and 19 when recording this. He is lyrically ahead of many in the game right now, along with his smooth flow, and sick beats. Can't stop listening to this. If you have never heard his mix tapes, definitely check out 1999 and Summer Knights.

Great job with official debut. I've been following joey since 1999 mixtape and summer knights. Good flow, good beats throughout. Best thing about the album is that it doesn't play down to some of the current trends, but it also doesn't sound so underground that it gets boring. I just hope that he gets the attention he deserves. This is a really strong debut album.

It's crazy how far Joey has come. I always said to myself that one day his music would be widely recognized and he would be put in the same category as Kendrick and J. Cole. Although it took a long time (2 years) for him to give us the album, it was worth the wait. B4.DA.$$ pretty much has every kind of song that you could ask from Joey. From songs with a positive message to radio hits, this album without a doubt deserves 5 stars.

P.S.- Watch out for Raury later in the year. He killed his part on Escape 120.

I was born on 91 so I missed a lot of that early 90's feel in HipHop and had to find it myself in recent years. Started sneaking burnt rap albums in my house back in fourth grade because my mom hated rap. This guy is amazing, brings an old school feel with a little bit of new. Executes his flows so well. I bought this on iTunes but I will be purchasing a physical copy and possibly vinyl as well in the coming days. Support this artist.

This is the best album of the year so far (I know, it's only almost the end of January). I went into this album having absolutely no expectations and left feeling like I did the first time I heard Yeezus. This is going to be an album I frequent. Joey Bada$$ isn't a force to be reckoned with, he's a voice to be heard and I believe that's where his true power is. He has something deeper to say and he's setting out from the start to say it and he doesn't waste any time on this album. So, maybe he is a force to be reckoned with.

In an onslaught of music doing more harm than good, Joey Bada$$ is a beacon of hope. He has me excited for the future of music again.
