- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2025Brilliant. A film dedicated to film and all the people who make films. bravo!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2025Entertaining take on the history of Hollywood.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2024I just really got it because of the steel book cover not the movie itself
- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2025The movie bombed and the reviews were not kind either. But I liked the movie immensely. Margot Robbie nails her part as the seductive wannabe actress and Diego Calva makes a very likeable Manny. Brad Pitt gives good support as well. The movie is a little long but thats understable considering it moves through the times.
I believe that this is one of those movies where, in time people will look back and say this was a great film. Maybe not a masterpiece but a great film.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2023This movie was nonstop and chaotic in such a great way. 3 hours flew by like 30 minutes. There were truly only 2 boring parts I stopped watching and did something else.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2023Good reinventing of a bygone era in film making.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024Don’t listen to Looking Closer’s review y’all, this movie was outstanding!! They’re not going for an exact replica of what the boring 20s were like during the silent film era, instead it’s a fun, kickass, and hilarious movie with a twist that adds fiery excitement. Margo Robbie is simply phenomenal, I honestly thought she should have been nominated at least. Damian Chazelle (director) was brilliant from the open scenes of the party (a little intense at times) to a hilarious walk-thru of a day on a 1920s movie set, thru the whole movie. I loved it. I wouldn’t watch this movie with a literal sense of the real 1920s film industry, but heck, maybe some of those scenes were really depicting how people partied and made movies in the 1920s.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2025Dumb, silly, pointless! It's a shame because it had a good cast and a few good scenes strung together with a nonsensical plot, overboard dialog, and a half-hearted attempt at comedy

Ce film sera culte !
MrCarlsonReviewed in the United Kingdom on April 15, 20235.0 out of 5 stars Over indulgent, but a fun watch
I love movies about making movies, so Babylon is made for me. It's baffling that this movie seems to have come and gone with so little notice or fanfare. It's definitely long, and, some can argue, too much in love with itself, but, if you've always been a movie lover, and enjoy period pieces about Hollywood, this is the movie for you. It's mostly funny, though it has its dramatic moments, and the usual use of Jazz in the Soundtrack, like Chazelle does in all of his movies, goes well with the subject matter. Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt are in top form here, and their charm and charisma carries you through the 190 minutes of this movie. Image and sound are top notch in the 4K, pity that the extras packages is nothing to write home about, a couple of featurettes and a nice collection of deleted scenes. If you love Whiplash and La La Land, this is a nice follow up to those movies.
