The BAKFlip G2 (Generation 2) Tonneau Cover / Truck Bed Cover is the newest generation (G2 = "GENERATION 2") of the original hard, folding multi-panel tonneau covers. This cover has Black Scratch and UV Resistant ABS panels so you have all the security of a locking hard tonneau cover and have instant access to your entire truck bed. The innovative BAKFlip G2 cover folds all the way forward and up against the truck's rear cab (rear window) giving you access to all of your truck bed without removing the cover. The BAKFlip is also easily removable with 2 fastening knobs and weighs only 40 lbs! PLUS - The BAKFlip DOES NOT INTERFERE with stakehole pockets on your truck, so it works perfectly with side rails, headache racks, tie downs, overhead truck racks, etc

I was able to easily clamp down the rails with the factory Bedliner installed (they even came with the necessary shims pre-installed). I did have to modify (cut out) a small section of the Bedliner in the front cab side corners to insure a flush fit for the rails at the rear and provide a place to drop the drain tubes (which is recommended in the instructions). I marked off the small area and I used an oscillating tool to cut out the Bedliner material. This added about 30 minutes to the install - no biggie. After that, it was a quick effort to align the cover, add some hardware, and secure it.
Based on other reviews here, I was on the lookout for metal shavings - I only found one, so I guess quality control has gotten better.
Finally, the instructions are detailed - I did look at a couple of installation videos, but it really wasn't necessary in my case.
All in all, it took me about 1.5 hours to install from unpacking to finish - not too bad.

When it rains there is some water leakage but I blame the installer(me).
Great product, operates and looks good. BUT be cautious to damages on delivery. Mine arrived with no signs of damaged from packaging.Read more
