I read about it rusting out after a couple of years. So I got some black oil based Rustoleum High Heat paint. And painted all of the parts before assembling the chiminea. Also I drilled 4 holes (1/8 inch) in the very bottom round wood tray. After that and 30 hours of drying, It assembled fairly easy. I haven’t used it yet. But am confident that the extra paint should extend the life of this BEAUTY by a few years. Hoping for ten plus years… we will see. …. Okay it’s been a month and we have used it once. And now I think it needs to be up higher. On a table or something to raise it two feet off the ground
