I live in the Bay Area in Tesla's backyard and we have regular car break-ins of Tesla Model 3 quarter panels. Unfortunately, due to bad Tesla design to down the rear seats from the cabin vs. from the trunk, our cars have been repeatedly targeted by thieving scumbags looking for an easy payday. Every time these quarter panels get broken, the replacements co
sts are about $550. While I don't keep anything of value in the car, I also leave my rear seats folded down to make the trunk fully visible to these disgusting lowlife thieves. I also have the sentry mode turned on when I am away from the car. To add another extra level of security, I explored a few options online.
Something that intrigued and caught my eye was the Basenor Window Cover Protector - Anti Theft Rear Quarter Panel Glass Window Shutters. I decided to buy it on Amazon to give it a try. The product arrived promptly after a week of ordering. It came in a medium sized flat box that was well packed. Each window cover protector came in its own plastic cover.
While there were no installation instructions, the product design was intuitive and the installation was very easy. It took me about minutes to install both the panels.
The jury is out on how it will fare when thieves try to break the quarter panel. I am really hoping I don't get victimized any time soon. But it gives me peace of mind knowing I have this extra level of protection. If anything it looks cool, so there you go! The product is priced reasonably well and is well made. I recommend this product.
