My APC BACK-UPS XS1000 started cycling from On Line to On Battery without reason, so I decided it was time to replace the battery pack. I ordered the 12V 9Ah BATTERY REPL. FOR APC BACK-UPS XS1000,RBC32,33 - 2 Pack. The installation went smoothly after I watched a YouTube on how to do it ([...] I had to remove some excess plastic from one of the four connectors so that the lead could slide over the new battery terminals. Separate the old battery pack by using a sharp blade to cut the tape, cutting along the edge of the battery, one at a time. Then slide off the connectors, and, I connected the new battery just after removing the old one. Everything is color coded and the connectors are so short that you can't go wrong. I did have to slightly crimp the female connector so that the new battery's male connectors would firmly stay in place. Since installation, the unit hasn't repeated the cycling issue.

As advertised, this is an exact fit for the original battery set. As others have noted, you have to take the old battery pack apart. You remove two huge adhesive strips. install the connectors from the old batteries, and away you go.

If you're not sure what you're doing, take a pictures with your phone.

Also a bonus... the original batteries were 7.2A each, the new batteries are 9A each, which is about a 25% capacity increase.

Replacing the batteries in my UPS was not plug and play. But, after taking the old batteries out (they had performed well for over 8 years, replaced once) I new it was going to take some electronics experience to install the new ones. From beginning to end it took about 45 minutes total. But, Hey, if these replacements last as long as the old batteries it was worth the minimum investment of time and money. If you go back to APC they want to sell you a new UPS, they don't make that unit any longer. There is nothing wrong with the unit, it just needs a knew battery. So if you are tired of loosing your documents because of "brown outs" at the wrong time, a UPS is the way to go and APC has performed well, in that respect, for me for many years.

Good price. Got here a lot sooner than expected. I'd give 5 stars but they are batteries for a UPS. I can't know if they work yet :-)

If you are considering getting these instead of the replacement pack don't hesitate. The taping together thing was a breeze.

So far so good. It's always difficult to really rate these as you don't know unless you really run it through the ringer. That and sometimes they fail a few months down the road. But it seems to be handling the small power hits we've received.

Just what I needed to get my UPSs back on track. With multiple computers running around I keep a fair bit of UPS batteries as well. This allowed me to put a few older UPSs back into service and they came up flawlessly.

I was willing to give it a try after one of my UPSs that is going on 10 years old complained about a battery fault. I looked at the price for the full kit and it was almost as much as a new UPS would be so I opted to try the battery replacement option.

The good is that it worked and after leaving it plugged in to charge and then used a shop light to give it a load test to make sure it didn't die too quickly I felt confident putting it back into service to protect my TV and media center DVR.

The bad is that these are just the batteries so I had to take apart the "battery pack" really just a plastic fitting between the two batteries that holds the wires and the connector as well as some tape warning labels. I set everything out side by side on the table to ensure that I got all the leads plugged in properly and once it was all back together used some packing tape to keep it together much like the original but without the warnings and notes. All told it was about 15 or 20 minutes to get it done. I have two more UPSs that I bought about the same time that I plan to do the same thing with because their batteries are the same age and I would guess they will take 5 or 10 minutes each now that I know what I am doing.

We have had one power outage since the new batteries were installed and the media center stayed up through it and ran for the 5 minutes the power was off.

I replaced the batteries in my old APC Back-UPS 1500. Just slide the front of the UPS down. The one with the picture of a battery on it and down arrows. Couldn't be simpler to disconnect the old batteries and replace with the new ones.
