Just as an FYI, the saw was wrapped in shrink wrap and placed inside an Amazon delivery box, as opposed to being in a standard manufacturer's box. This was a bit weird at first, but everything seemed brand new.
As mentioned in previous reviews it doesn't come with a battery, and you have to install the saw blade it comes with. Read the directions to install the blade, and it won't be a problem. Don't assume it is like other saws you might have used in the past.
I wasn't a big fan of the guide to follow the line I marked for my cuts, it is essentially a slit in the support plate, as opposed to others I've used which were more of a notch that allowed me to stay on the line better, but that could be personal preference.
This is a light duty saw. I'm not sure I would want to cut 100 pressure treated 2X4's to length with it. I still like the ones with power cords when power is available.
I discovered that; after constant hard use for about an hour and a half, the saw would stop cutting through the piece of plywood, indicating that it needed a charge on the battery. It took about an hour to recharge the battery. I highly recommend purchasing several extra batteries and keep them on charge so that one can continue on with their work instead of having to stop and wait for the battery to charge.
If you're a person who likes to do small projects where a lot of wood cutting is involved, and you don't like hefting a heavier electric circular saw, this light-weight little saw will not only get the job done, but won't wear your hand/arm out while doing it. This saw is light enough for the average woman to handle and not get fatigued in the arms during use.
It's plastic, feels cheap, you have to let it come up to speed before contact or it stalls, blade changes are a bit of a pain but even with all these "cons" I'm still glad it's in the shop. It's been surprisingly useful, cut up a pile of two three old plywood sheets from a shed rebuild that was wet and nasty from a year of laying out on one battery...impressive. For all those trim this, cut off that jobs that are remote it does the job without having to drag out the extension cord. It's not powerful or tough enough for continuous day in day out work, but it isn't meant to be.
Change the blade that comes with it! The provided blade is for "rough" work and isn't all that sharp. I replaced it with this Oshlun SBW-055036 5-1/2-Inch 36 Tooth ATB Finishing and Trimming Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor (1/2-Inch and 10mm Bushings) and it really made this cut much smoother and with less effort.
