UPDATE: looks like you have to post a negative review to get any response from the seller. thats a joke! Pictures coming of how my bike arrived
Update 08/29/2015 - added kick stand, benders and rack - posted new picture
Next morning I dragged my 15 year old son out on a 20 mile paved trail ride for a tester with me. The brakes and shifting performed flawlessly. The geometry on the 19" is perfect for my 5'10", 210 lb 32" inseam frame. Pedals were fine for this trip. The inflatable fork is adjustable- lock out to free. I actually like the tires. You can put your head down and grind miles nearly as well as a road bike or jump curbs and travel over loose river rock, make tight turns, or climb like a goat. Further off road testing to come --- after my ass heals. I bruised my inferior pubic ramis- bilaterally-taking a couple of days off. New seat arrived the next night.. should have waited. Appearantly the Chinese are built differently.
I took 15 years off biking to raise 4 children. If I did not already have a high performance pro replica CAAD3 Durace and still relevant road bike, I would seriously consider the BEIOU carbon road frame.
The rear hub free spin is LOUD. On a busy path it was a plus --- I stopped pedaling and they KNEW I was coming!
Biggest Complaint (only really): if I shift my weight back-to-front on the seat or visa versa there is an ominus ***CREAK*** not a "crack". In what I believe is the seat post- I am going to ferret this noise out and ensure it is not the frame. Also the finish on the handle bar stem, as it enters the headset, appears to be not finished - raw carbon? Almost in layers. I just bought another one of these babys for my wife (17"). I will compare and report in a future post ... Happy Independance Day 2017. And pull the damn trigger. (Total price delivered with modest Amazon discount: $1208) Why are you still reading? It's still to cold for riding so I decided to take the bike to a bike shop to have it looked over. Go thing I did, the front derailleur was broken and the cable had a issue and needed replaced. Having the bike looked at including the extras cost only $80 so I feel I got off easy. I will update again after hitting a few trails.
