This is a slow cooker. The real deal. A put it in early and leave it all day slow cooker. Again, old school. Most new slow cookers are not slow. I have one that cooks very hot and fast. I still use it for certain things, but when something cooks low and slow all day long........perfection. This is that slow cooker. If you need a slow cooker to leave all day while you work, this is that slow cooker.
I have (as yet) had no problems with the letters coming off on the dial.
The base of this slow cooker is very sturdy. It is made very well. The crock is nicely made and I didn't have any dings or other imperfections in mine. I did have to tighten up the screw holding the lid handle as it was a little loose.
You get a lot of bang for your buck with this slow cooker. Other than the beautiful colors ( so pretty!) this is a plain, old fashioned, honest to goodness slow cooker that works very well.
Not only did it cook perfectly, it's also beautiful on the counter. Tomorrow my chili will be sampled from this beautiful appliance by the chili cook-off judges, and even if I don't win, I'll be satisfied that it turned out exactly the way I intended and it is beautifully displayed.
Of note, when I searched for slow cookers, this one did not come up. I added the word, "shallow" because the best one I'd ever had was round and shallow, and then the Bella line appeared. It should be listed up front with slow cookers.
I will NEVER buy another Crock Pot brand appliance unless they fix their heating elements to actually cook slowly in a slow cooker. Of course by that time, I won't need another one. I plan to buy another Bella.
I will add to this review when I use it on the other settings and try a roast.
What I iked: There is no timer. I want that pot going until I turn it off. I also liked the size and shape. The large oval instead of round shape works well for me. And it's aesthetically pleasing with lots of great colors to choose from.
Disliked: Letters on the dial rubbed off within a few weeks. Not a big deal bc it's only low, high and warm, but still. Ceramic crock doesn't stand up to heavy use. But for the price vs heavy use I guess I shouldn't have expected it to.
If you want a cute basic crock for light use this may be the one for you. I really liked it while it was usable. I'll be spending a bit more for a better quality crock and one that has options for both continual use and a timer.

This is such a pretty slow cooker but it tends to burn the bottom of my food. I usually put aluminum foil on the bottom to prevent it but would rather not have to do that. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Meredith
