The programmable time and temperature settings ensure a perfectly cooked meal every time, while the stoneware pot is removable for easy kitchen-to-table serving. Set the Timer and Go
With the 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker, it's easy to create healthy, great-tasting meals with meats, vegetables, and grains. The stoneware pot provides plenty of space to assemble ingredients hours before you plan to eat. The 30-minute-to-20-hour digital countdown timer ensures your meal will be perfectly cooked when you want it. One-pot cooking also makes for less mess and fewer dirty dishes to clean.
Seals in Moisture to Increase Flavor
Thanks to its tempered-glass lid, the cooker seals in flavor by locking in moisture, so even tougher cuts of meat become tender and delicious. Vegetables and grains absorb the rich flavors of stocks and seasoning.
Locking Lid for Safe, Easy Travel
The lid securely locks for travel, so you can share your favorite dishes at family get-togethers, potluck dinners, and barbecues. The locking lid ensures your dishes won't spill or leak during transport. When it's time to eat, press the front lid lock button and use the lid handle to open the lid--it will stay upright for serving. For added convenience, the slow cooker comes with a spoon, and the lid features a built-in spoon rest.
Choose from Three Temperature Settings
The slow cooker can operate at the low setting all day or night, meaning you can put ingredients in the pot in the morning and come home at the end of the day to a fully cooked meal. Foods will cook on high in about half the time required for low cooking. When cooking is complete, the warm setting will keep the food at the perfect temperature for up to four hours. It's easy to try new dishes--experimenting with curry, enchiladas, bread pudding, and more is as simple as throwing in the ingredients and walking away.
Removable Pot for Easy Serving and Cleaning
When it's time to serve your meal, the pot lifts out of the slow cooker, so you can bring it directly to the table. For easy cleaning, both the pot and the tempered-glass lid are dishwasher safe.
6-Quart Capacity for Large Gatherings
This 6-quart cooker can cook a 7.5-pound ham, 4-to-6-pound whole chicken, or a 4-to-5-pound brisket. It's the perfect size for making meals that serve up to six people.
Durable and Stylish Stainless Steel Design
Featuring sleek, durable stainless steel construction this slow cooker adds style to your kitchen. To keep the finish looking great, wipe clean after use.
This slow cooker uses less energy than most ovens, making it a more eco-sensitive cooking choice.
What's in the Box
6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker with locking lid, tempered-glass lid, stoneware pot, spoon, and user manual with recipes.
Top Customer Reviews
The packaging of the product made it easy to remove the cooker. The cooker is very stylish and we were very surpised at the size of the cooker. Six qts is very big. The size would definitely serve a big family. I found the build quality to clearly be exceptional. The material is definitely not cheap. As another reviewer noted, the first time you use the cooker, there will be some minor odor. In our case, it was very minor. The odor never came back in subsequent uses.
This cooker clearly, even without a temperature gauge, cooks hotter than my previous slow cooker and does so across all temperature settings. My wife put it another way. Perhaps my old cooker just cooked at a lower temperature. Either way, be prepared to adjust recipes as needed. The design of the cooker, while appearing state of the art, uses a hinged lid design that makes it difficult to use under some counters with overhead cabinets. However, the locking lid (by lever)) really seals to the pot and keeps food moist and retains all moisture. Setting the crockpot is a breeze and the simple controls and illuminated timer setting is great.
However, here is what may be a deal breaker for many. When the crokcpot is done cooking, it shuts off. I find this very odd. In our case, we depend on our crockpot to keep our food warm until we all get home. So, in the case of the BELLA, if we will be out of the house for 5 hours and the recipe requires three hours of cook time, the crockpot will shut off 2 hours before we get home meaning our food is cold. This seems to be an oversight in my opinion. Instead, you have to manually set the crockpot to warm, effectively making it a great warmer but no so great crockpot.
First off, take a minute to read the directions. You can’t just take this out of the box and throw food into it; you need to give it a “break-in” run first. While the instructions say that there may be some odor which quickly disappears, it distinctly smells like a small electrical fire until it shuts itself off for the first time. But sure enough, after the break in, there are no returning odors.
I tested this by making an old favourite, a simple Pork Roast in Creamy Mustard Sauce, which calls for 6 hours on “Low”. The 5-lb roast and vegetables fit with room to spare. I kept an eye on the meat temperature during cooking, and it warmed up faster than I expected. For the last 2 hours I switched down to “Warm”, but meat still came out just slightly overdone. This prompted me to test the DeLonghi and Bella units side-by-side. Filling each about 1/3 full with water, I set them each to “Low” and checked the temperatures. At 2 hours, the DeLonghi was at 146º and the Bella at 153º. At 3 hours, they were at 170 º and 180 º respectively. I switched both units to “High” and after an hour, DeLonghi was at 179º and Bella at 193º. Two hours later, the temperatures remained unchanged. So, the Bella is cooking hotter and faster than I’m used to, which is slightly annoying but I can compensate by adjusting my cook times.
Here’s the real problem I found.Read more ›
But I can live with that.. because as I mentioned... its a pretty pretty purple...
But then the LID... the back hinge that attaches to the lock thing... so it "locks and won't leak!" breaks.... and now doesn't lock.. (much less hold the spoon it is in theory supposed to hold) But since I don't travel much with my culinary concoctions... I am ok with this... I suppose.. (mind you.. I haven't had this for more then a month at this point)
And now... the last straw... that even the purple can not over come...Read more ›
