BENRO B-2 ballhead offers manual drag control, smooth independent panning control, and positive locking knobs and quick release mounting plates. All housed in a precision-machined black anodized aluminum body. The Benro Universal Quick-Release System is designed to the same specifications as the Arca-Swiss system, and is also compatible with other similarly designed quick-release systems. Accurate 360-degree panoramas can be easily orchestrated using the graduated panning scale for accurate image alignment. The separate lock and drag adjustment knobs help to avoid confusion when working fast. Compatible with 2 series tripods like the Benro C-257M8.

The lower knobs control the pan (lowest & smallest knob), drag tension (medium knob -- in Amazon's photo it's the knob on the right side in the image), and ball tension (largest knob -- in Amazon's photo it's the knob on the back). The ball & drag tension knobs have scales printed on them so you can memorize and quickly return to your favorite tension settings.
The drag tension knob allows you to maintain some "drag" feel on the ball even when you fully release the ball-tension knob.
This head uses the industry standard "Arca-Swiss" quick release plate. It's a standard 1.5" (38mm) dove-tail. It includes one plate (the Benro / Induro PU-60) but would work with any standard "Arca-Swiss" style plate as long as the dove-tail width is 1.5". I prefer the "Arca-Swiss" system over the other quick-releases because the release knob is on the side (instead of release lever in the back.) I've used heads with a release-lever in the back, which is a problem when using a camera body that has a battery grip attached (or a larger body with a taller profile such as a Canon 1D) because the quick-release lever hits the body preventing the release from working.
I also own an Induro Gimbal-Head that I use for heavier equipment. It uses the same "Arca-Swiss" plate and I interchange these regularly.
My studio was robbed, my cameras and laptop weren't there and lights were all setup so difficult to take, but they got my still and video tripods and monopod. I had earlier versions of the Benro B-3 Ballhead(K-3 or K-2) on my main tripod and on my Benro Carbon Fiber monopod. I had used them regularly the last 3 years without any problem. I had read reviews on how they were cheaply made and would not last but I did not see any of that and had been very satisfied. I ordered replacements immediately. The new replacements for the K series is the B3 and B-2 series (I bought one of each)The new versions are even better. The adjustments are finer and hold more weight, the quick release plate has a safety feature, and they are slightly smaller and lighter. I do not expect to have any problems and use many Benro Products and have been very satisfied. I used a Arca-Swiss monoball all through the 80's and 90's and it was fantastic...and was as good in end as it was in the beginning. I don't know that the Benro balls will hold up as well, but I cannot see any reason why they would not - and at less than half the price, I will take my chances.
