I'm 6'3" 225 lbs with a 38" waist was concerned after reading the size chart that I should order XXL rather than XL. The XXL was too big so returned them and ordered two in XL that fit very good so if you are a really big guy the XXL has plenty of room. These shorts are very comfortable, fit good and have worn them while working in the yard on some very hot humid days. I do a lot of traveling for kayaking adventures and had been looking for shorts that took up very little space in my gear, were durable and quick drying. The length and fit is excellent for a big active guy like myself that are great for biking, hiking, paddling or just relaxing.

Decent riding shorts

I looked around and read several reviews before buying these shorts.

I wanted to go without a padded liner to see if they fit and add padded shorts later if needed.

These shorts are indeed very comfortable! The fit is close to the sizing chart.

The material is very light weight a cross between spandex and lightweight tent material.

The front pockets are very shallow and kind of useless, I rely on the the four leg pockets to hold things I’d rather not lose while riding.

The zippers and snaps seem to be quality, all in all I’m happy with these shorts and will likely buy another pair

horizontal zippered pocket wont fit standard smart phone

I have several of these style pants (different makers). This brand/model horizontal zipper pocket wont fit standard smart phones by 40%. This is the pocket that is easiest to reach and mostly used for cell phone storage. Easy to reach because the zipper is horizontal and closest to your hand when riding. Well guess what, they cheaped out and made the pocket super short. You can fit a credit card but not a cell phone in any orientation. You can fit the cell phone in the pocket that has the vertical zipper though. The normal hand pockets by the waist are also quite shallow. Shame. Just make the pockets deep y'all! Who doesn't like deep pockets? Seriously! :P Returning these.

Oh, by the way, I'm 155#, 6 feet tall. I purchased the size small. I usually wear a 30" waist for most pants and Levi jeans. The sizing chart said small is 31-33" Well, these fit tight and made me feel fat and I'm not fat.

I'm a mountain biker in Arizona. The crotch ripped on the second ride. The Velcro on the side cinch straps doesn't hold and they just fold shorts back on themselves bad design and not durable. I do not recommend these shorts. Spend more money and be happy with a quality product. Fox is a better choice.

Very comfortable and light. Also it may not be 100% waterproof it is definitely water resistance from light rain.
You can't go wrong with the cost compare to more well know name brand like FOX that you have to pay 3x more.
I've only used it 3x but so far I'm very pleased. I like it so much that I purchase another one with different color.

These shorts do the job. They are made of a nice, slippery material that doesn't' catch on my saddle. They're also long, coming down to the top of my knees when standing. So far it's survived 1 hard ride with flying colors, we'll see how long it lasts.

The velcro to adjust the fit could be better, I expect it won't last that long. Note, the shorts are NOT padded. They do fit over padded shorts or padded short-liner.

8/10, would buy again (so far), would recommend.

I always have a hard time finding outdoor wear because I am barrel chested, and short waisted. I actually bought a different brand of shorts with identical adjustment tabs, and belt loops, which fit me great. I figured that these might have the same great fit, and they also fit me perfectly, giving ample room in the hips, and the fabric is surprisingly supple. It almost feels like a microfiber, but seems more durable. It's odd that they only have belt loops in front, but wearing a nylon belt is comfy, and keeps the shorts up nicely. The legs cover down to my knees, and even when sweaty they don't stick or restrict movement at all.

I am super happy with these shorts, and bought two more pairs of them.

Saw a couple of reviews that alluded to the fabric being too light. I hike in these a lot and have realized over the years that flexible , fast drying, and wicking don’t normally exist on a thick heavy short. I think you have to purchase for the activity you are involved in. For hiking these are great. Not sure how they work for Drinking shorts.

Advertised as mountain bike shorts but they don't come with padded liners (I should have read the description more thoroughly) and whilst they are relatively comfortable, the materials used are not as robust those used in other rivals. Really, all your buying is a pair of lightweight shorts, not mtb shorts as such. So given the fact that you have to spend at least another £10-£20 on padded liners and the lightweight materials used I don't envisage them standing up to the rigours if real mountain biking too well so I would say these reopresent poor value for money when you can get decent padded mtb shorts from the likes of Decathlon Sports or such for similar money. They do look good on but that's about it. It's a thumbs down from me!

Good for light wear

Saw one review saying the pockets and weight were wrong. Saw another review saying the XL was a good fit for larger tall person. Both are true. The XL shorts fit nicely on a 6'2" 105KG frame and they are just right for light wear but I think a strong fart would tear straight through the fabric so not sure they will stand up to much MTB work. The popper design looks good and has a velcro surround so I recon that looks much more durable that the Dakine shorts with the small popper on a stretch fabric base which doesnt last long. As for the pockets... decoration. The side pockets are only just big enough to get your hand in and really only good for very short term storage (no pun) and the horizontal zipped leg pocket is big enough to get a post it note in - but I can only get three fingers into the pocket so I don't think I would ever retrieve something that went in there. The vertical leg pocket zip is big enough to get an iPhone in but the pocket opening is only just big enough to get your hand in, and the shorts are so lightweight, you wouldn't put anything heavier than a phone in them anyway.

Should be OK for general use shorts and wearing without padded shorts underneath.

These work brilliantly for cross country or mountain biking. So many zipped pockets. And the two main ones that arent zipped are high enough I'm not worried about losing anything out of them either. Waist is super stretchy - which works well for those of us who are generously proportioned. Super light and quick drying which is ideal since I wear mine over my lycra padded shorts when riding.

Overall a solid product and well recommended.
