Wanted to Love this product.But they just don't last. 2 have failed in under 7 months. Fits perfect in my 2016 Tacoma cup holder.

Update 5-31-18
So the replacement bestek sent me has failed again. This time the USB's stopped working. I called bestek and they informed me that their warranty only covers the originally purchased item. I explained to him that the original unit I purchased failed and was issued a replacement in March. Now the replacement has failed. He literally said I will need to buy another one. That there is no warranty on replacement units. I will be returning my item to Amazon. I will also advise my co-workers that bought this item about the warranty policy.

We bought this just before taking a long road trip last year. At the time, I thought it was a waste of money. However, it came in handy for so many things. It allowed multiple devices to be plugged in at one time, but also let me have my computer plugged in for when work called with an "emergency" that made me spend 3 hours dealing with in the car. Would not have been able to do that without pulling over while I charged my computer at a rest stop/restaurant, etc.

The biggest downfall about this device? Someone stole it out of my van. But, other than that, it's been used constantly since last July with no issues what so ever. I highly recommend this product.

So far we have bought 3 of these.
My husband, who works from home, needs to be available to take a Skype call at a moment's notice, and do some emergency coding, bug fixes, etc. He travels with his laptop, but many times we have had to hurry home because his laptop has only 3% charge left and he has to take an emergency call at home where he can charge, which he would otherwise have taken in the car. This fixes the issue for us, as he can charge his laptop off it, with no trouble. One is for him.
Another is for my family, who like to take long car trips, but are tech nerds. Apparently, they hook an extension cord to this, run it to the backseat of their ten seater van, and everyone hooks in their devices: laptops, tablets, phones, kindles. No more worrying about saving your battery on a 10 hour trip and using your device only for the essentials. Warning: there's a limit to how many watts you can safely pull off this inverter at the same time, so do a quick calculation before hooking up too many devices.
The 3rd device is the reason this is missing a star. Whenever we plugged it into a car, the car would blow a fuse. It didn't matter which car we plugged it into, so the problem must have been with the inverter. We bought this as a gift to my brother-in-law, and he was not pleased! This experience scared us enough, that we bought the next device with a great deal of caution, and tried it for the first time with the car safely in the driveway, with extra fuses handy and no pressing appointments. Luckily, no fuses blew after charging a laptop off it for about 20 minutes, so we gave it the all clear.

I took this to Iceland and London. It worked great for my tablet, phone, battery charger--I even plugged in a refrigerator to it. Its compact design was perfect for airline travel. And driving in Iceland, this inverter was invaluable. The plug ends fit snugly in the sockets and stayed there no matter where the inverter had to sit (under the seat, behind the seat, in the back of the camper van with the refrigerator). It worked flawlessly during 9 days of rough travel that would have suited a four-wheel drive jeep better than the little van with 13" tires that we had.

USB ports could maybe be a little more powerful

Works fairly well but I'm a little disappointed that neither of the 2 USB connections seemed powerful enough to simultaneously charge my HTC phone while also using the phone's GPS function. In this situation, I can see the battery slowly drain via the phone's battery monitor. The only way I can see it charge while using it for GPS, is to plug in my 2 prong power charger into the 3-prong outlet. In this situation, it slowly but surely charges the battery. Other than that, it looks real nice and the fan is quiet. We went on a 2000 mile trip and we were able to charge, via the Bestek's USB connection, my wife's HTC phone (that was off) and simultaneously run my HTC phone/GPS via the 3-prong outlet - not bad but not perfect. Of course there may be legal or electrical limits as to how much power can go through the USB ports, I'm not an electrical engineer, so who knows. Maybe these limitations are noted in the manual but I couldn't find them.

This works perfectly in my van. Just make sure you don't forget to press the white "power" button on and off as needed (it has a small light to indicate power.) When I turn off the car and pull the key out, it doesn't automatically turn off. However, I believe its somewhat vehicle specific because in my other car it does turn off on it's own.

We have used it a lot and recently we took a road trip and plugged in a power strip to one of the outlets enabling us to power and charge all of our kid's electronics, such as portable dvd players and such at the same time.

Nice looking unit, both the unit and the cable which plugs into the cigarette lighter look and feel very sturdy and high quality. The unit fits into my car's cupholder. Plugged into my car's cigarette lighter, it provides two USB sockets, two 115VAC sockets and one 12V cigarette lighter socket. The unit has an ON/OFF switch with a green LED to indicate when the power is ON. It also has a lid which can be closed to protect all the sockets from dust and dirt when the unit is not in use. The one design flaw with the unit is that the two 115VAC sockets are so close together, that you would not be able to use both at the same time. I don't see this as a major problem, because you could always buy and plug in a 115VAC extender cord which has two or three outlets, should you require the use of more than one 115VAC outlets. Still, it was kind of pointless to design this unit with two 115VAC outlets when you can only use one.

3- It’s vented with a fan
4- it has 2 plugs

6- it can give 200 Watts but max out @ 500W
7- ran approx 500 hours so far (sometimes 24 continuous hours) no issues
8- WILL CLEAN ALL & LUBRICATE FAN ONLY

Safe for the car. No shorts, no blown fuses, no problems. H

Had it in a car where ppl ate peanuts and dust all over it. Still works. There is Made in China, and then there is Made to promote a better reputation of Chinese companies and Manufacturing industry in general.
