Very promising beginning to a new series! This is a story where the Fae Queen is missing but is found in the human realm. She is no longer in fae form but reincarnated as a human. The Fae King finds her and is hell bent on making her remember her past life so she can be the queen she once was. The story starts with Daria, a young woman who is still trying to find herself, when she “runs into” Ian, a very hot client. A very fast and hot relationship starts and then the rollercoaster begins. You are thrown in the passion that Ian feels and the issues he has trying to get Daria to remember....while trying to make Daria believe that she loved him once. There is a traitor amongst the Fae and this traitor is the reason the queen is a human now. The king is faced with finding and dealing with this traitor and making his queen remember. It is quite the story!
“Day and night cling to each other like lovers torn apart. The few moments they are allowed to exist in the same time and space is brief and fleeting, and loathe though they are to leave each other, they paint the sky in beautiful colors as remembrance of their love for one another. And, during the day, the world is such a busy place that when dusk finally does arrive, it feels as if the world finally gives itself permission to take a deep breath and relax.”
“It was beautiful. She couldn’t deny it. It was also a cage. ‘A beautiful cage of snow and ice that is preventing me from returning home.’”
I absolutely recommend this book. The reason for giving it 3 1/2 stars is that some parts of this story are very rushed and at times I was left needing more. Nothing from the main story is missing but there are some side notes that could have been drawn out more and the story jumps around a bit. This is very promising and it is left with a cliffhanger. I am anxious to continue the Fae King and Queen’s story.
This took a little to get into once I had the dialog straight and who was talking. Sometimes when you have a lot of characters that can happen which is why the 4 star instead of 5. I love Fae stories and I liked this story. I liked how Daria didn't just roll over. I liked her character. The story isnt finished. Dont freak out it doesnt necessarily end on a cliffhanger but it will continue. Without giving a whole lot away just know the missing Fae Queen is foundish. Fae King works really hard once she is found to get her to remember everything almost pushing too far especially in the beginning. She's human now and no longer Fae in the human world. There are a lot of obstacles to get through. Will the King have his Queen?
Iauron has been searching the realms for his lost queen for hundreds of years and finally finds her hidden in the human realm as a human. He goes into the human realm under the guise of Ian Ri to help her remember who she is and bring her back.
Daria is the human body that houses the soul of the Fey Queen Verisiel. She is a dance teacher who is working with her interior designer cousin for the summer and has no clue she is a Queen long thought to be dead by all the Fey but Iauron.
Ian comes in and wants to hire her to help redesign his house, she is attracted to him immediately.
Ian has to win Daria's love since she has no recall of her past life. His feeling for her are the same as when she was Verisiel, to him they are one and the same.
While trying to win her, he also has to keep her safe from his hidden enemy that tried to kill her before.
Daria and Ian work so well together, but trying to get her to remember her true self is harder than he thought.
Both characters are well written and I love the bits of Gaelic that are used throughout the story. .
This book has it all Fantasy, romance, suspense, hot Fey, and catty women over stepping their boundaries.
I can't wait to read the next story to see if Daria remembers herself, if enemies are thwarted, and if love can shine
