So I bought these because I needed new highlighters. These highlighters certainly get the job done. They don't really bleed through but you CAN see the color on the other side of the paper so this wouldn't be great if you'd consider that a distraction. The design is very sleek so I liked that because it doesn't take up a lot of space. So, if you're not looking for anything special I suggest that you buy these. They're inexpensive and are all you really need to get the job done rather than any fancy highlighters.
However, the colors were not bright enough for me. I like highlighters that have color that just pop out in your face and sort of make you look at them. These highlighters don't do that for me. The pink is especially too pale for my taste. I did like the orange but it still isn't bright enough for me. Now, if bright bright bright highlighters give you a headache, then these are completely fine. I'm not saying anything is wrong with them but if you like bright highlighters, like myself, then I don't recommend them. Otherwise, I don't see why one shouldn't.
and one is stuck with a dried up non-usable marker. I must admit I'm surprised, because Bic pens have always been fairly reliable-- but it's back to Sharpies for me.
The fluorescent yellow ink is vivid, goes down smooth / consistently, and doesn't smear on notebook or printer paper (but it does smear on glossy textbook pages). Out of 9 different ink pens, the Brite Liner only caused one (gel) ink to smear. I use the Pilot G2 & Sharpie Pen most often and neither smeared when covered by the Brite Liner. The highlighter will dry out if you forget to put the cap on, but the tip holds its point and does not fray even after hours of use. The pen does not have any window to see the remaining ink and it is not refillable, but it is low cost and seems to last as long as any highlighter I have used over the years. The width of the line it puts down is a bit thin - it takes two strokes to cover my handwriting & two lines to fill the space in one College Ruled Notebook Line.
The body of this version is ever so slightly thinner than that of the Brite Liner Grip. The rubber grip (which is absent here) is a nice edition, but is certainly not needed unless you are doing some very serious highlighting, or if you hands happen to get sweaty while you write (which again would be some hard core highlighting).
The BiC Brite Liner rightfully earns 4 stars as it is reliable and functions as well as any other highlighter I have used. If all of the colors were as vivid as the Yellow - this package would have earned 5 stars.Read more ›
