Finith E. Jernigan AIA - Born in Texas, raised in England and Germany, and now living in Maryland, the former Air Force brat builds cooperation and efficiency into every project undertaken by Design Atlantic Ltd, his Salisbury, MD firm. If you are working in traditional approach in construction industry and would like to migrate to BIM, I highly recommend this book to you. It will give you a basic concept of what BIM is and a direction of how to migrate to this new approach of construction industry in the coming future.

This book filled an early void and helped spread the BIM gospel. It is evangelical and anecdotal rather than research-based and objective. If you're looking for a mature text book, this isn't for you, but if you're interested in the history of the BIM movement, and a bit of a how-to guide, then you'll be pleased with what you get. The copy editing is atrocious, though.

when looking for books about BIM i didn't realize how was important to know more than just Revit or ArchiCAD. i googled around some times but here i found this book, well reviewed, and got it for my kindle.
i loved to see many new concepts and information than i got before only using the softwares.
else to say?
the importance between the concepts and the practices, between being BIM rather than doing CAD with BIM head.
more important: less then 25$ for the kindle edition of this book.
