One problem I have had with the numerous books and courses on time management was there was too much. I do procrastinate and I know that I do. The problem isn't getting organized as much as it is in the "thinking." You know...thinking about how to start to get ready to get it all done...sound familiar??

Mr. Stables hits the nail on the head in this book. Stop thinking. Planning is key. Then, just DO what you've planned out. Simple, short and efficient is what comes to mind when I summarize this book. It doesn't take a hefty planner, a techy scheduler or a personal assistant to shave time off your already too busy life. Now, I am sure that even if you are someone who needs a planner or assistant (and some of us truly do) there is still a ton of tips that will help you get more things done in a day... and those things being what truly NEEDS to get done.

I enjoy Mr. Stables writing style. He uses realistic, relatable examples that you nod your head in agreement with as you read. Each section is clearly laid out and simple to follow. And, each chapter has a beneficial summary at the end. And the chapter on procrastination...well, honestly, as Mr. Stables says, "Procrastination is not there when you are doing something, only before." So take a look at the sixty-second technique he shares with you there. =)

All in all, it is a great guide that I found to be very helpful. I've already started to implement it and have found myself getting more tasks completed and having some extra time. And, with 4 kids at home, that is time I value greatly!

Like a lot of people, I often find that when I have a lot on my plate in my personal and work life, it tends to get on top of me - I get distracted easily and before I know it, I'm having to rush the task that I was concentrating on - and I'm left with that awful feeling that I didn't do it nearly as well as I would have liked. So I picked this up to try and try and get more organized and efficient!

This is well-written and clearly laid out. It is an extremely helpful and practical guide towards efficient time management in prioritizing your tasks, and is loaded with valuable tips, such as performing tasks in order of importance (for example, what tasks produce the most results, and have the best outcome etc). Chapters included are: the reason tasks take longer, the best way to improve your tasks and the simple way to make work easier and more effective, to name 3 of them.

There is a useful summary at the end of each chapter, summarizing the points of that chapter. There are also one or two very simple questions that you can ask yourself (when you look at your list of tasks for the day) that will clarify things in your mind immediately and make the question "in what order do I perform these tasks?" very simple and straight-forward! I've already tried using these and it's made a big difference to my day - the end result being that I know I've done everything to the best of my abilities, with time to spare, and far less stress and pressure!

If you lead a busy life and have lots of responsibilities and tasks you need to accomplish on a daily basis, then GET THIS GUIDE. You will find it invaluable for getting things done in a timely manner, and getting your personal and/or work life in order and back under your control. Highly recommended!!

This book is full of new thinking on time management. What are some of the great yet shocking assertions? Don't have a schedule! That's right. You CAN live without one. Another, always plan some "thinking" or "planning time" before planning a task. This seems a waste often but it is vital for cutting the time it takes to finish a task. Overall this is a helpful book with some great advice for getting things done in less time.

The first sentence that caught me and reeled me into this book was "5 times more things done in the day." That is EXACTLY what I needed being a full time secretary where everything rests on my shoulders to get done. Author Ian Stables is more like my personal professor in this short book (showing less is more) as I can take it with me on my Kindle and read in on break. Stables showed me how to condense my time on single projects, teaching me certain methods to use, and my favorite: fighting Mr. Procrastination. The whole concept is taking what we already know about working and scheduling our time, and throwing that away to find something much more efficient. I have suggested this book to all my co-workers (goodness knows some people like myself really need this) as well as some family because I truly feel that once you read this book, you have such a different and improved take on work ethic that is worth the change. Thank you for the great read!

Everyone can always use more time to get things down. My own life schedule is as hectic as anyone. This guide contained many useful ideas on completing your work in a more efficient manner. One of the things I enjoyed about it was the fact that the author avoided a lot of the common sense ideas that are easily found on the internet. Instead the information provided had a fresh feel that the author paired with frequent examples that I could easily relate with. Another plus that I liked were a few exercises that were offered. In them, I had a chance to really organize the information the author provided into a useable ideas for my specific life situation.

Certainly I won't use 100% of what the author suggests, sometimes I just like the way I do things. But for a lot of the tasks that I do daily, I'm certain that I can shave off some significant time with the advice provided. Even an extra 30 minutes is welcome, but depending on how inefficiently you currently are working, it could be substantially more time savings.
