Top customer reviews
1. I have a moderately large kitchen/family Ron area with tiled floors that needs cleaned and with a swiffer/traditional mop it can take up to an hour and a half
2. We have a 6 month old baby with reflux which means he vomits a lot and we need an easy and effective way to clean the floors
3. Using chemicals to clean the floors irritates my airways and gives me nose bleeds
The reviews for this product were largely positive and I have other positive experiences with Bissell products
Experience - Assembly and instructions
Well packaged and easy to get out the box and identify the parts
Easy to put together. The handle screws in and there is one screw needed to attach the steam head. It takes no more than 5 minutes
Operating instructions were clear
Experience - Use
Water reservoir is easy to remove, fill and re attach. It does not look all that large but actually the fluid goes a long way
Setting the steam level is easily done with a clearly marked dial. There are 3 settings to pick from. I used the highest steam setting
On first use makes a knocking sound as the pump primes. This I clearly noted n the manual and on a sticker so I was not too worried. The only negative so far is that the ready light is not very bright so is hard to see
To use you pull a trigger in the handle which activates steam - this is a little cumbersome and it took me a while to get use to this as initially it seemed very awkward. Especially as you also have to move the flex about as you would with a vacuum
First few passes it seems very heavy but after a couple of minutes, probably due to the pad being optimally damp and me getting used to what I am doing it seems lighter. Using gentle back and forth motions it is easy to quickly cover the floor. For more persistent stain it was necessary to hold over the stain and steam before moving back and forth over the area. The floor comes up nice and clean and it not too wet
Te micro fibre pad only needed changed when I moved on to do the bathrooms.
I had purchased the eucalyptus water to use with this and to be honest the smell was not that noticeable and I would not buy this again, but rather would use water with some essential oil if I wanted a scent
Experience - packing away
Easy to remove and empty the fluid tank. I rinsed it and left it to air dry on the side. The unit is fairly compact and fitted in the cupboard I keep my vacuum in
Pad are easy to pull off. I just put mine through the wash and let air dry after. They could also be hand washed
Overall this was a very positive experience and I a very happy with the product. I have not used the steam pod out with the body but if it works as well as it does in this configuration I will be very happy
I have at this point replaced the little brushes and the microfiber pads but, they we're not expensive and easily available on bissel.com so, I have no complains.
We have used it frequently, at least twice a week for kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and hallway floors, and have also used the steam pod for bathroom cleaning.
With two little kids and a dog this is worth it's weight in gold. However, be sure to shop around for the right price. Sometimes I see the lowest here but often notice a better one on bissel or another website.
Also, I used the grout cleaning tool on my bathroom and it went through the bristles in ONE use. So I can't use that part anymore - they said I'd have to BUY another. Lame.
A bit disappointed as I did a lot of research to replace my cheap, long-lasting Dirt Devil steamer.
