To people who are like me, new about cordless screwdrivers, this is not a powerful screwdriver.
It's almost as powerful as your hand. If you are muscular then you will be more powerful than this tool.
Does simple jobs easily, like door handles, toys, PC parts, and other screws. Nothing powerful. Some screws were too tight, and I had to unscrew it manual with a different screwdriver, because I was afraid I would break the cordless screwdriver :D
It relief you from the manual boring screwing/unscrewing. That's it. Nothing fancy. A simple item.
To be honest, I was surprised how powerful it is.
I used Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries, and they fit tightly, and work just fine. Pictures are included :)
For simple, everyday use. I recommend it.
Also, it only come with 2 screw bits, and I have bought this item and it is compatible, and worked just fine. Name down below.
[ Black & Decker 71-515 Screwdriving Bit Set, 33-Piece ].
- Changeable batteries; fast and easy to swap out. So far still on original batteries with 2+ years of occasional use.
- Can lock the driver and use like a manual screwdriver. Good for when I just want to put a screw in finger tight or just want to start the screw manually to avoid stripping it.
- Lightweight and comfortable size for my hands.
- No tactile distinction between the forward & backward buttons. Have to look which one it is.
- Can't lock the driver one-handed. It is actually possible, but just very awkward.
- Wish it had a holder for the extra bit. Not really a big deal since I already had bit organizers for my drill.
After owning one of these for two weeks, I ordered a second one so I can store one in the house and one in the workshop area of my barn. How did I live without this for so long? The time savings are immense, and it is great for removing screws on the old audio and video equipment cases that I have been refurbishing, as well as easier to maintain a straight perpendicular angle on screws than when turning a screwdriver manually. It is great for placing and removing brackets on soft wood items or drywall, like shelving or curtain rod holders. The time and aggravation this can save for many common tasks is incredible. I love it.
But, it is not perfect. My main complaint about the design is that the forward and reverse buttons are exactly opposite each other and when squeezing one button for use my hand is naturally placed to oppose that force on the opposite side. Even after a fair amount of use, one has to make a conscious effort to not push both buttons at the same time. A toggle button would be so much better. Two other small complaints are that there is no bit holder and it would be nice if the length of the driver could be reduced to make it fit into tighter quarters.
All things considered, despite these shortcomings, the utility of this thing considering the price is five stars all the way.
Update: After owning both this and Black and Decker's budget cordless drill I keep finding myself using the drill over this. Pictures added.
And I do have to say, the people that are complaining about the quality are simply baffling to me. Unless it was dead-on-arrival, stfu. What do they think they're going to get for this price? I guess they demand it be made with better quality parts for this price, lol. The expectations, and even pettiness, in many of these reviews is just mind boggling. Seriously. It's less than ten bucks. It includes two bucks worth of batteries. Don't expect Snap-On quality, duh.
