The whole story has a very dated feel, as if it was resurreted from decades ago. From the plot to the author's use of phrases like "going steady", "making out", and "getting to third base", the book is a real blast from the past. Just pass on this one.
Jessica is a retired Olympic Figure Skater, and her dad is the new Hockey Coach. Jake was on the Olympic Hockey team, when he was 18, he knows how to play, but the new coach of the college team thinks he needs some skating skills and has his daughter Jessica work with him.
Jessica's dad has kept her under his thumb since the death of her mother, his wife. The last thing he wants is for something that is not professional to develop between Jessica and Jake. What happens when it does? How will Dad/ Coach react? Can their relationship survive the consequences?
I loved this book. I felt for the most part it was well written and It kept me reading. I had a hard time putting it down to get some sleep.
I could feel the tension between Jessica and Jake. Jessica's dad, also Jakes coach should not of put them together if he didn't want them getting together. I also like the alternating views as I know what each was thinking.
This book was written very well and easy to follow.
As a sports novel with romance this book was great. I had to read on to see where it would go next
Recommend as a good reader book

I really enjoyed reading this story! It has a different feel to it than most other bad boy sports romances. The story flowed smoothly and was well thought out. I loved the characters together - the connection and chemistry was there. They were easily relatable. A great and easy read!
Jessica has been sheltered by her father since the death of her mother. So he is very protective of her. He makes that clear to Jake no messing with his daughter. Jake doesn't think Jessica can teach him anything, but he's in for a surprise.
Then things get hot between them. Can they keep it from her father? Will he cut Jake from the team if he finds out? Will he give Jessica up if the coach/dad makes him choose? You have to read the book to find out.
I received this book as a ARC for an honest review
