Juliet Braddock has once again pulled me right in with her writing.
Gavin and Chloe’s story was great. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down, the pages just flew by. When Gavin opens his home up to Chloe he melted my heart right from there.
Gavin is what I would consider a very sexy dominant with a huge heart. He also runs his own business which makes him even sexier.
Chloe has some struggles from her past including growing up in foster care. Due to her past she has issues trusting people, when Gavin found out she was homeless and opened up his home she couldn’t help but be a little leary.
These two end up being a support for each other through the book. Gavin was so great with Chloe and vice versa. My emotions were all over the place. You do get BDSM and dark erotic moments that melt the pages and will leave you hot and bothered. The secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. I had some LOL moments. I think I fell in love with Gavin right along with Chloe.
Juliet has done such an awesome job with their story and I couldn’t have been happier with the conclusion. Juliet is one author that I will continue to follow and read, she always blows me away with her stories. I look forward to the next book. Thank you Juliet, I loved it.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Reviewed by MAustin from Alpha Book Club
I'm a fan of instant love and while they had an immediate connection, I think they needed more time to build their relationship then jump into the I love stage.
Gavin was a Dominant and he looked towards Chloe to become his submissive. While some scenes worked others seemed to be forced or overtly written. I didn't feel the given and take aspect of their D/s relationship.
We also had to deal with Chloe's tragic childhood and her youth.
There is child sexual abuse this book so if this is a trigger I would suggest not reading it.
Chloe isn't alone with her tragedies. Gavin has his share of failed relationships and childhood sadness. He has overcome the odds only to be faced with another challenge that this pair faces together.
Their story is wrapped up nicely at the end and this couple is given their well deserved HEA but it was a bit of a struggle for me to get to the end.

It opens with him talking about his past and Amanda. He gives a bit of his background and what makes him tick. He is his own boss and has a good life going for him. He has a huge heart and loves unconditionally. His mom and sister are great. I love how Gavin opened his mind heart and home for homeless Chloe. He was her rock and there for her when she never had anyone. There was an instant attraction for them. It all; happens because of a tragic incident. When Chloe is afraid she runs.
Chloe, down on her luck, homeless and is one of the most prideful people I have ever read. She doesn’t let her situation get her down. She is strong, very independent, smart, beautiful and very artistic. She is afraid to let people in because of her past. Her past is heartbreaking and my heart broke for her. It’s what makes her the humble woman she is today. Growing up in the foster care system can bring you down, but she didn’t let it.
Just when we think good for these two it takes the dramatic turn I was talking about, then it is Chloe’s turn to be everything that Gavin needs. These two are perfect for each other. They complete one another. Their love never falters. They give each other strength and stability. Now the secondary characters are also spot on. Liz, Gavin’s sister keeps you on her toes. Gavin’s mother Vera was great and comedic as well. Just at the perfect times. I loved Mason role here as well. I could simply go on and on. I didn’t want the story to end. I truly fell in love with everyone in this book.
Join Chloe and Gavin and see if they can overcome everything that life throws at them and rise above it all.
