From the Author
This happens with each new book. I try to explore new depths, to make each story special and different and richer, to give you guys the Thrills you expect but also that extra-special helping of Heart and Soul.
So here I am again, launching another book, another Thriller with Heart.
I'm gonna warn you all right up front, this one is different. It's going to unnerve you, make you think about things in new ways that might be uncomfortable. After reading it you aren't going to be able to walk down the street alone without searching the smiling faces surrounding you, looking for Evil.
That's right. I said it. Evil.
As a pediatrician specializing in Abuse and Neglect and working on the front lines of inner city ERs, I quickly realized that Evil does exist.
I've seen what Evil has done first hand when a dear friend was brutally murdered. I've sat with Evil and coaxed confessions from it while offering it a cup of coffee as a child's body lay cooling in the trauma room across the hall. I've seen Evil assume a mask of normalcy and fool almost everyone who came into contact with it, including people I admired and respected. I've struggled to find the courage to stand up to Evil when I knew I'd be alone in the fight and risked losing everything.
Evil has sometimes won those battles. Worse, I was one of the few who even cared.
Evil exists. That's a given in my real life and in the world of my books. Especially Lucy Guardino's world.
You first met Lucy in SNAKE SKIN. She's just your normal Pittsburgh soccer mom whose job is to catch the worst predators out there.
You and tens of thousands of other readers asked for "More Lucy, please!"
Lucy's back in a new story that's even darker and edgier than SNAKE SKIN. She's in for the fight of her life--but it's not her life she's worried about. It's the lives of innocent children...and not-so-innocent children.
In BLOOD STAINED Lucy grapples with the question of where does Evil come from? Is Evil born? Or taught?
What if a child was born with Evil blood and raised in Evil? Could a child like that ever be saved? Or is their BLOOD STAINED forever?
Just like SNAKE SKIN, BLOOD STAINED is not a fluffy, escapist read. There are no car chases, vampires, treasure hunts. There is no romance.
There is a mother's love for her family, a law enforcement officer facing her fears, and a boy learning the hard and painful truth of what it takes to be a man. There are tough questions, impossible choices, mistakes made, prices to pay.
Most of all, just as with all of my Thrillers with Heart, there are ordinary people like you and me, people who are scared even if they don't want to admit it, finding the courage to stand up and change the world. Because heroes are born everyday.
IF you think you've got what it takes to read BLOOD STAINED, download a sample or buy it today.
As always, thanks for reading!
