About the author

Stacey Carroll is a suspense and erotica author that specializes in non-standard characters, making choices that you probably wouldn’t make if given the same circumstances. Her latest work, Anything for an A, features Kelsey Smith, a high school senior that needs straight A’s in order to qualify for a scholarship to college. The caveat is that her alternative high school is better known for its scandals than its high academic achievement. Stacey Carroll is also the author of the fiction suspense series - Avia, featuring drug running, heroin addicted, pilot, Avia Conn.
Stacey Carroll grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana under less than ideal conditions. For a family of five, there was one mold-riddled bathroom. To get to school, we rode in an old beater Camero that leaked exhaust fumes into the passenger cabin and dripped gasoline from the engine. Whoever sat in the passenger's front seat had to hold the door closed because the latch was broken. Our meals consisted of whatever was served for lunch and the after-school snack.
The only respite from these harsh conditions was reading, and Stacey Carroll loved reading.
At least once a week, everyone was taken to the library to check out a stack of books, and we could checkout as many as we wanted as long as we kept track of them and ensured they were returned on time. This resulted in Stacey reading hundreds of books throughout her childhood and into her teen years.
She went to college at Indiana State University (ISU) and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in aerospace in the professional pilot program. She has flown Cessna 152s, Cessna 172s, the Pipe Seneca and the King Air. She also graduated with a minor in computer science that specialized in web design.
More on Reading and Writing
She has always been interested in reading and writing, and the first book she was ever read was the Grimms Brother's Fairy tales. If you think you know the story of The Little Mermaid or Rumpelstiltskin, go pick up a copy of the Grimm's Brother's Fairy Tales. You will be surprised when you read the originals.
From the ages of 6 to 11, Stacey read the Nancy Drew series. By the age of 11, she had graduated to Stephen King novels. A few of her favorites include Carrie, Tommyknockers, The Dark Tower Series up to book 3 (That's where it stopped in the late 80s/ early 90s), Pet Semetary, The Shining, Night Shift, The Stand, It, Cujo, Christine, The Eyes of the Dragon and Thinner (Richard Bachman). In her teen years, she moved on to Anne Rice and got through about four of those books. Stacey has also read a couple Harry Potter books as she was introduced to them in the early 2000s.
She is currently an author and freelance writer. She received an honorable mention in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine in 2008 for a short story entitled The Field. In 2014, she was published in 13 Stories by Us by MacKenzie Publishing.
For 2020, Stacey Carroll plans to continue work on her two series, The Blooddoll Factory and AVIA, as well as release more single titles, like Anything for an A.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between William and Sadie, and thought that the concept of what their company does (and how they do it) was a great idea. I also thought the author did a great job of making Melissa very unlikable - which was for the best, given the circumstances. (I will caution those who are triggered by non-punished adultery in stories - you may have some issues with this one.)
It was a good read, and I plan to start the next one in the series as soon as I make it through a few more books in my reading stack!
