When it arrived I put in two AA batteries. It started right up from a tight toggle switch at the top. It took a bit of getting used to, moving the switch with my thumb, and holding the gadget in my palm. Either, the toggle loosened up or my thumb became familiar with turning it on, so now it's easy and not awkward, and I can run it with one hand.
It's a powerful tool and works better than the one I had before (a different brand) which stopped working.
It's easy to clean, since I just use it for mixing powdered Vitamin C and anything else that's light and easily dis-solvable... I run it under hot water to clean.
I did try to froth up some whipping cream for my coffee, and perhaps I didn't do it for long enough, but it wasn't as stiff as I'd like- it probably works better with 1/2 & 1/2.
I really like how study it is and the price is right.

Love this frother. I was thinking about buying an expensive espresso machine, but honestly the missing thing I was looking for was the frother part. I heat half and half (and sugar 😂) and top my favorite coffee. Hear it makes killer whipped cream too...I believe it. It's perfect
