I was keen to see if this stuff could clean up some really old high-speed steel router bits that had burned on resin. It could, but it took a soaking for that old hardened stuff to come off. This is a product that lives up to its claims. I'll but more as I need it.
It cleans my saw blades, drill bits, wood tools, and cnc and router bits like they're brand new, with a minimal amount of effort. A little patience letting it soak in, and a 50 cent brass wire brush make the big jobs simple. Bits can be cleaned with a rag and a short soak.
It's been said that simple green, oven cleaner, and other things do the same kind of job. Simple Green does not. That orange goo, it doesn't get it, either. Why anyone would want to suck oven cleaner fumes is beyond me, but hey, to each his own. It's been said that oven cleaner can harm some tools and the price is pretty much the same, so why have to don gloves and breath fumes to do what Boeshield does comfortable and effortlessly?
I don't generally write reviews as I don't believe in heaping words on mediocrity. Boeshield has earned my time by saving me time, misery and effort. It's my pleasure to share how well this solvent works.
Before I go, I should mention that the bottle has a litte pump spray mister on it that actually works very well. There's a nice cap on the bottle that keeps the pump clean and fresh, not full of sawdust. It's the little things that count, ya know? :)
One recommendation is to take off any guide/template guide bearings before using it. I am not sure if the stuff will penetrate and degrade the lucubration in the bearings, but I decided not to risk it and just take them off beforehand.
And I would like to add that it is terrific for garden tools such as hand and
pole pruners, saws, hedge shears and almost everything else. Nothing

woodworking tools, especially circular saw blades and drill bits, can get gunked up with resin, gum and pitch. This stuff removes it, quick and clean. Good stuff.Published 5 months ago by OffGrid9
Works okay, but not great. The spray nozzle clogs easily. CMT cost a little more but is a better bargain in the long run.Published 12 months ago by Tom O
Great for removing that black/brown crusty stuff from saw blades and router bits. What can I say, It works.Published 20 months ago by Cree Ate
prior to this I have used several different cleaners for my blades and bits. Most were quite harsh and a couple removed the coating on the blade. Read morePublished on January 29, 2014 by Amazon Customer
Removes built up material from blades and router bits almost instantly. Some brushing with a plastic bristled brush is helpful, but not always necessary.Published on September 6, 2013 by W. Edwards
Used in on a table saw blade, and the gunk just dissolved right off. Nice not having to try to scrub all the individual carbide teeth.Published on August 21, 2013 by Ned Jackson
