Spencer….. We met him a long time ago didn’t we? He appeared in all three Rook & Ronin books, Tragic, Manic & Panic. Did he catch my attention there? A little, but I was so blinded by Ford I wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention to Spencer, and bikers, not really my type. Also, he already had a girlfriend. Long term relationships, not really my thing either. I love a wham, bam, YOU ARE MINE romance. Why has Spencer been with Veronica so long without committing? What’s his deal?? We get a novella BOMB, and a novel GUNS to figure him out.

We quickly learn Spencer is not quite a player after all. He’s in love with Veronica Vaughn. He’s always been in love with Veronica Vaughn. So why hasn’t he claimed her? Why doesn’t he want the world to know she is his?

Who is Spencer? Is he a playboy? Is he a criminal? Is he an artist? Is he a buisnessman? Is he a little of all of these things? Where does Veronica fit into his life?

We get a lot of answers in BOMB. The flashbacks to when Spencer first met Veronica? Heart stoppingly perfect. Exactly what I needed to experience to understand Spencer. These flashbacks, butterflies in stomach perfection. And.... they're dirty. Key. To. My. Dirty. Reading. Heart. I’m okay now with this long term relationship. I understand. I’m excited about their future.

But Veronica’s not too excited about their futre. She’s pissed, rightly so.
Spencer hasn’t come across like a guy who’s invested in her. Spencer hasn’t even come across like a boyfriend. Ronnie’s had enough.

Spencer’s got some work ahead of him in GUNS. I can’t wait.

I don't know where to start. If you wanted to start your reading experience with JA Huss with Bomb you could, but you would desperately be missing out on the whole story. To really enjoy this book you should start at the beginning and read your way through. Start with the Rook & Ronin books, Tragic, Manic and Panic. Then go and read Slack and Taut and fall for Ford so that by the time you get to Bomb you are so addicted to JA your life will never be the same. I refer to her writing as my book crack and I'm totally addicted.

Spencer Shrike is one hot man. We don't really get to appreciate him until Bomb. Sure we know he looks like a god, makes awesome custom bikes and can paint like Michelangelo but we don't know how he really feels and thinks. In one book, about one day, all this clears up. Bada$$ Spencer is truly a good guy underneath all that rough exterior and his heart belongs to one girl. One very lucky girl I should add. Who wouldn't want to be Veronica "Ronnie" Vaughn. Especially after reading about their hot first encounter in detail. I will never look at a motorcycle again without thinking of that scene....HOT!!

The question is will Ronnie and Spencer get their HEA? It may be too late. Spencer may have waited to long and Ronnie may have moved on. Her head may be telling her one thing but I want to know what her heart will say in Guns.

My biggest problem now is how am I going to feed my habit until March? I think I may start at the beginning and read the whole series over and keep hanging with the crew at Shrikes Bikes on Facebook. It's my own version of NA because they are all addicted too. "Hello, my name is Trisha, and I'm a Hussaholic!"

I have an epic book hangover from a NOVELLA. I thought my book hangover was bad after
Taut, well that is proving to be mild compared to what I'm feeling now.

I'm devastated. But in the best possible way. Because what the hell do I do until the end of March?
I’m excited, yet fearful of the days and weeks I have to wait until I get my hands on Guns.
I’m ruined for all other books and especially book boyfriends. I found my number one.

I'm 100% invested in ALL the characters from the Rook and Ronin series. I'm so invested that I've become fully delusional in my love affair with my (now) number one book boyfriend-of all time. Bomb is a novella about said book boyfriend, Spencer Shrike. I've waited months to get my hands on this book. I claimed Spencer Shrike as my top 2013 book boyfriend months ago after I read the Rook and Ronin series, all three in a week. He was such a charmer in those books that I was beyond delighted when the author told me she was planning a book just for Spencer. It made me have a girl crush on her and I happily stalk her, daily.

So what is it about Spencer that makes my heart melt and my panties wet? He’s a protector. He’s smart. He’s a charmer. He’s a bad ass with a heart of gold-you just don’t know it yet. He is my total package in book boyfriend material. I KNEW he was a sweetheart despite his hard ass exterior. I just KNEW there was something deeper and meaningful in him besides his charismatic, humorous, “I don’t care” attitude. And by the end of this novella, all my instincts proved right. I’m not sure how it was possible for me to love Spencer Shrike more, but I do. Jesus… his actions and words in this novella DID. ME. IN.

Now there’s Veronica. I wanted to hate her.
