I loved watching the Borat movie, and my brother is a big fan. I had wanted to give this book as an additional gift to the movie, but after seeing what is inside the book, I'm slightly hesitant. There is a large amount of graphic pronographic images throughout the book and didn't have to do with the movie.

Only a few sections are reminiscent of the book, the rest is its own thing.
As a gag gift I'm sure it'll give him a laugh for a few minutes.

I think SBC is doing something unique that no one ever attempted. I absolutely love Borat will and recommend to learn about his cultural adventures to anyone who is interested in understanding Americans and how they think.

I shudder to imagine how a reader not already familiar with Borat would respond to the humor in this book. When read with Borat's inimitable banter in mind, the jokes jump from the pages.

The book serves as a nice post-script for the Borat movie, tying up such loose ends as Borat's convoluted family tree, the precise height of the Melvin Gibsons statue in Kazakhstan, a whole section on the recordings of Korki Butchek and the fact that the Five Islands of New York include Alcatraz and the Harlem Globetrotters.

Most of the jokes in the book are riffs from the movie or cable show, and so are very familiar. The downside is, you're left with the impression that Borat is just about played out. While a hilarious read, the book doesn't really give much hope that there's any gas left in the Borat tank. Where could Cohen possibly take it from here? Could he poke fun of Borat fans outside the U.S., whose delight with Borat derives at least partly from their schadenfreude with the American public? Could we have a Borat "pre-quel?" Or are we left to hope that the rumored upcoming Bruno movie will be as enjoyable?

Make buying NOW! I'm not an easy laugh, but this book gets audible gut busting laughter from me on almost every page. It's nothing short of brilliant. My only complaint is that it is not 10 times longer and that Borat has been retired as a character. I still want MORE.
