In book 1 we were introduced to Kate. Kate is who Borden was secretly dating. Brothers decided to torture, rape, and kill Kate to send a message to Borden on how he conducts business.
Borden runs the streets of New Raven. People fear him and take orders from him.
Marcus has his men protecting Emma. Graeme, Hawke, and himself are always close to Emma. His men alone cannot provide the type of protection he needs so Borden seeks help from an unexpected person.
For most of the story Borden has Emma on lockdown with his men looking for the person who sent that threatening text message. When the person is finally revealed is when the story becomes intense. The atmosphere changes from worried to scared.
Don't fret over trying to figure out who sent that threatening text message to Borden you will waste brain cells trying to figure it out. Instead enjoy the journey and enjoy the carefully crafted words that AJ Lewis has transpired.
The story was erotic with plenty of sex. The story was entertaining and suspenseful like a typical biker story. Filled with beatings, torture, and killing.
The story was easy to follow and I was engaged. It's a story you find yourself lost in the pages.
I really liked this book, and the main reason is Emma. Well of course I love Borden. Emma accepts Borden for who he is. She doesn't want to change him.
I think a lot of books out there write about a heroine is trying to change a man. As a reader we fall love with the dark parts of the Hero, anti-hero and well the heroine should too.
We learn a lot more about Borden in this book, we see just how lonely it is at the top... We also see how BADASS Borden is.
I cried, I laughed, and I lusted.. duh...
Great book with some great steam.
Loved this sequel and as usual this author:)
Marcus and Emma have come along way and I couldn't be anymore happy with their conclusion. Why not the 5 stars then, again for me, it was the whole Kate issue that took it down a notch. Ugghhhhh, I couldn't take hearing her name anymore, lol, just when I finally thought I could get past her BAM her name is brought up!
Another great book and Congrats to Author R.J. Lewis!!!!!
I'm a big, big fan of Villains. I love them. They are the realest. Marcus Borden is most definitely a villain, in the best way possible. You do not mess with what is his. He will destroy you...
Emma, she is a sweet, pixie of a woman, who wholeheartedly believes that love can be found in the worst possible situations. What is she supposed to do when someone threatens the love she finds with a villain?
I loved everything about this series and will be doing a re-read <3

Marcus and Emma' s story continued where the previous story ended, there's so much intrigue and as much as Marcus goes to great lengths to keep Emma safe , you know it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens even with all the security in place it's a waiting game and a tense one at that.
I found myself pointing fingers early on, I wasn't to sure about Hawke at first with him being Hector's brother but I slowly warmed to him you know there is so much double crossing that could take place, you can't help wondering who you should trust, I have to say though I did have my suspicions about Blythe.
Like the first book it grips you from the beginning its quite brutal in parts, I found myself holding my breath especially when Emma was captured and they buried her all you could think about was Marcus and what this would do to him.
Just as you are running out of options Hawke turned up but of course the nightmare isn't over yet, you are on the edge of your seat wondering and waiting for the rest of the story to play out.
I loved all the characters even the ones you weren't so keen on they all played a great part, shame about Graeme though and I can't help wondering if anything is going on with Hector and Tyler surely there's room for another story let's face it there's plenty of entertainment and grit.!
Great epilogue by the way..!!
Just a tiny thing which irritates, but is not really to do with the story. Surely it should be 'he ground himself against her' rather than 'grinded'. Also, should't it be 'he thrust into her', rather than 'he thrusted'. Silly, but annoying when it is obviously not a mistake as it is made repeatedly.
All in all, another brilliant book by R J Lewis.
This is my first book by this author but it definitely wont be my last. This is one of those books where you can really feel the characters and emotions the writer is trying to portray and it so easy to get lost in their story. Luckily, I didn't discover the books until both parts where published and got to read them one after the other. I don't know how I would have stood the wait for the second part if I had found it earlier. All I can really say is this is one of those books you always remember, the characters, the story etc and leaves you wanting to read more. I was simply blown away.
This second book takes you on the same journey. Borden is in love with Emma and she, similarly loves him. Someone is after them as payback for Borden's retaliation when Kate died and the story that follows will keep you on your toes throughout.
This book was my favourite over the two. The first one was so dark and painful. This one is dark but showcases Borden's and Emma's love and it humanises Borden in a way that the first book didn't.
I love how RJ splits her books. The book is similar throughout and then something happens changing the entire scenery and therefore the book. She does it in many of her books and I love it.
Well done, RJ! A truly magnificent book you have created here.
After the heartbreak of his first girlfriend Kate being kidnapped and murdered by a rival crook, he is determined that the current love of his life Emma will not suffer the same fate. Their attraction was immediate and the sex is explosive. I needed to open my freezer door to cool down in some places!
Without giving anything away, I loved the passion, drama and the fact that there were some very dark elements to the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who is not afraid of violence and likes reading a love story that is intense and not all 'hearts and flowers'.
