Decent construction, appear that they will hold up, .....Installed two years ago now, and they're out in the elements a good part of the year, and are holding up so far. I treat them with no respect whatsoever, and can't really demand much from such an inexpensive option as a boat speaker, but so far they're earning a good reputation. Decent, not great, sound and apparently pretty robust construction!! A good value, they are. Update year three: Replaced original two speakers (not the Boss 3rd and 4th reviewed above) with the same Boss 6.5" and everything's working out fine. Appreciate the fact that the mounting hardware is stainless steel for durability.

So the speakers sound decent. But since everyone else couldn't bother themselves to put how much they are "over sized" I figured I would try to help. They are 6.5" to the screw holes. The face of the speaker is just a shade over 7.5". So they will NOT fit in your typical 6.5" speaker hole. So if the measurement holds true to the BOSS 5.25 it would not fit a 6.5" speaker hole either. So if that is the hole you are trying to fill I would recommend a different brand or be ready to cut the hole much larger wherever you are installing it. Hope this helps.

This is the 2nd set of these speakers I purchased. The first set in 2013 (lasted 5 years) and now in 2020 (lasted 7 years). Both sets of speakers rusted at the magnet located on the cone - there was also corrosion on the electronic components soldered on the cone. The sound quality is OK - it starts clipping if the volume is turned up - mind you the speakers are rated at a higher wattage than my radio. But my biggest disappointment is the blade connector on the speaker - on the 2013 model both blades fit a 1/4 inch connector; on the 2020 model, one connector is 1/4 inch (negative) but the positive is .11 inches (2.8mm) - I had to cut the old connector and purchase/install a smaller connector. Between the rust on the cone and 2 different size connector blades, this affirms how cheap Chinese quality control is.

Good speaker for the price. Used in my boat. Sizing wasn't exactly perfect, but with a slight alteration I was about to fit them. I used them as straight replacements so I didn't have to do any rewiring. Make sure you check measurements if you a re-fitting an old unit. My boat had different sized speakers in the cockpit than the cabin. Cockpit was 6.5" and Cabin 5.25".

Installed the speakers in the exterior wall of my 5th wheel, to replace the old ones. Sound good, look good, but they are a bit larger in diameter than the old ones so I had to enlarge the holes a bit....not a big deal but had to rotate the speakers since the screw holes didn't align either. Also, they are a bit deeper than the stock ones. I had to chip away at some of the wall foam insulation to make it fit. All side, they installed okay and work well. So they are a good value purchase. I don't know about durability yet, but they've held up to a couple of good rain storms.

Just installed it yesterday. Easy follow instructions. Sound is way better then I had anticipated. For our fishing boat it is way more then we will ever need. Easy use and looks nice. We did have on issue with the order. The nuts for the screws were not the correct ones. The screws were to small for the nuts. This slowed down installation cause I had to find some to make it work. This was a surprise to me. The screw and nuts were pre packaged in thier own bags. This was a first for me ever that screws and nuts were not the right size.. Otherwise great unit.

The speakers sound OK which is what I was expecting for the price. It would have been nice to have spade connectors included. Waterproofing is from a gasket 3/4” back from the edge. Time will tell.

Update-the speakers were installed on the outside of my Keystone 5th wheel. They were too deep by about 1/2” . I solved the problem by letting them stick out into a cabinet. See picture

Mounted mine on the side of travel trailer in surface mounted pods. Not sure if they improve upon the bass of the speaker or not, but man do they pound pretty good.

Hooked up to a regular pioneer radio they have great sound (read- not tinny) and honestly was going to buy the kickers and ended up on these because they look plain.

I doubt anyone will steal boss speakers off of it in storage!

Buy them! The best marine speaker you will find at this price point hands down. The next step after these is 200$ and up in my opinion theres no middle. For 50$ they work and sound pretty damn good. Anyone who has a trailer replace your original ones with these it's a very noticeable difference and cheap upgrade. I've done it twice with two different units. The speakers that come with travel trailers are absolute garbage, shameful. These have also lasted through winters outside with no issues yet.
