Exactly what it says. You get what you pay for. I knew I was buying a cheap amp when I bought it. Don't go into it expecting $500 sound. It puts out it's rated power...sort of.

They DO tell you the true RMS @ _ Ohm ratings of it in the manual and fine print but the packaging and box does the usual flea market audio trick...you know, the whole overrating the power output. Throwing 15000 Watts at you for $30...Yeah, that thing.

I would NEVER use this with a woofer of any kind. It does a noticeably better job than my Alpine headunit for powering the front and rear speakers but that's about all I would recommend doing with it. The amp performs well under a seat and I haven't noticed it getting unusually hot or any cut outs. It's quite small which is nice for tight fits. It's comparable in size to a typical factory amp.

I did notice that Amazon claims it has a remote subwoofer level control... Well, I didn't notice anything like that in the box. Not a big loss.

At the end of the day, it's a $30 amp. It'll do a better job powering your mids than your headunit or factory amp but that's all it's good for. Good little amp for the money. Nothing more. Nothing less.

A little advice. Spend another 40-50 bucks, and buy a real amp. I wasn't expecting much in buying this amp, but it turns out I even overestimated it there. I already have another Boss amp, it's the mosfet monoblock amp, and that works just fine. This thing puts out so much alternator whirring noise, that you can't even hear the music! You have to turn the gain down to basically nothing in order to almost not hear it, and I mean only almost. You can still hear it plain as day, it's just not overpowering the actual music, and at that point you've completely negated any effect of actualy having an amp in the first place. You're basically just putting out what the head unit is putting out once again. I know it's the amp, and not anything I did wrong, because I wired up an old Kenwood 2 channel amp that I have, in the same configuration as this heap, and it puts out absolutely no alternator noise what so ever.

I USE THIS AMP TO DRIVE 8 SPEAKERS, 2 6X9 AND 6 6.5 ROUND. EACH SPEAKER IS RATED AT 50 - 80 WATTS RMS. ITS USED AS MY VOCALS AND TYMPANI DRIVER. FOR THIS WHEN COMBINED WITH 1X8" AND 2X12" AT 1000 WATTS FROM SUB AMP. I HAVE RUMBLE BUMP THUMP AND I CAN STILL CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THE LYRICS. THE DECIBLE RANGE MAKES IT A PERFECT MATCH FOR MY SUBS.

Works great, really puts out the wattage as advertised. Only one problem. Once you start your car it makes so much engine/alternator whine you can't hear anything but. I have tried everything. My other amp that drives my subs is just fine. No engine/alternator whine at all. So it is just this amp.

I bought this little amp that could on an impulse due primarily to the low, low price of $40.00! I should have trusted my first instinct that no amp is ever sold for 40.00 bucks, what you get is a nicely marketed, fairly good looking paper-weight. This amp has one good review, maybe I was unlucky and received an amp that was defective but that's not likely. What I received was an amp that once installed, sounded WORSE than the cheap Pioneer head unit I am running in my truck. I tried everything, switching speaker wires, triple-checked all my connections and so forth. I plugged the same speakers into my 600W Sony Explode Amp and they sound fine, switch the speakers back to this BOSS amp and what I hear is a horribly under-powered, muffled tone. Thank goodness Amazon has a nice return policy and I quickly requested full refund.

If you ever want to start your engine please avoid this. I bought this small amp to push 4 Boss 3 ways for highs and a large Boss monoblock to push 2 12" MTX subs. The monoblock sounds great. This thing has so much alternator whine it's unusable. My fault for installing it on garbage day, yeah I tossed the box in the trash and it was hauled off before I had everything wired up. Swapped grounds, 12v supplies, and RCAs with the monoblock. Still gobs of whine. I'll be replacing this quickly cause even a couple Boss noise suppressors can't eliminate this thing's whine entirely, even with the gains at the lowest. $40 mistake soon to be remedied. I don't even know if I can give it away unless I give the suppressors away with it.

I still have a lot of faith in Boss being a great choice for a system on the cheap for a work vehicle or your wife/kids car. My entire setup is Boss besides the subs. Even the cabling. This amp is outclassed by everything else and I half expect it to say "Pyramid" if I pried off the shroud. I've lost a little faith in you Boss....

Could use a high pass filter. Doesn't do anything bad though. The housing covers the cooling fins. I don't know why they made it that way, but if you mount it vertically (with the mounting tabs top/bottom) it should induce a convection current through the duct where the cooling fins live. Seems to have a pretty low noise floor (no humming).

Bought this amp and my factory gm stereo had the same power. I bought a Rockford 400 amp and no comparison. 400 watts will vibrate your entire automobile. The big issue was the amp I bought on line had several controls for the sound and the one that was shipped to me looked the same and was a RIOT R1004 but was a cheaper design without any of the controls that was advertised in the picture and description. Be careful!
