From the Manufacturer

These Bostitch 10-Inch Aviation snips are designed for cutting heavy stock in a straight, left and/or right cutting direction. These snips are developed with Titanium Nitride coated cutting blades which reduce wear and extend blade life by two times compared to FatMax compound action aviation snips. They cut up to 18 gauge cold rolled steel or 23 gauge stainless steel. The patented flush mounted hardware of the snips allow for smooth access from the pouch. This also helps prevent metal from catching onto the protruding hardware as the cut is being performed. These snips meet or exceed ANSI standards and are designed for applications including HVAC, roofing, siding and gutter, flooring and metalworking.

I have had numerous types of tin snips by every major manufacturer. I would have rated these snips five stars if not for their uncomfortable ergonomic design. The cutting is excellent, the design of this tool to allow minimal interference of nuts and clasps is great. The grips are awful, prolonged use of the tool will give you blisters on your thumbs.

This problem may be different for others though. Since the cost is not outrageous they are definitely worth a try and if not try the Lenox snips, they are near perfect.

These aviation snips make cutting sheet metal a cinch. Its serrated steel cutting blades make a solid bite and prevent materials from slipping while cutting. The blades are coated with titanium nitride to extend the life of the snips. Their low-profile design allows it to cut easily without the sheet metal getting caught on "stick-out" parts of the tool during use. They're not supposed to ever need tightening and, so far, we haven't had to tighten ours.

Straight cuts are easy; but I've found these snips also make tight curved cuts smoothly and easily. They're marketed as being able to cut up to 18-gauge cold rolled steel or 22-gauge stainless steel.

These snips are comfortable enough in my hand for short duration cutting. I've yet to meet a pair of metal/tin snips that were comfortable for extended cutting. For cutting of longer duration, I usually wear a pair of gloves (I find lightweight biking gloves also work well in that they're slightly cushioned at the gripping points). An added benefit is that the gloves protect your hand from the sharp edges from the sheet metal, too.

I have just about tried every brand of aviation snips and found these to be the smoothest and easiest to cut metal studs. Had to readjust the tool using a torx bit when I got it.

Cut the well. A little on the expensive side compared to a local big box store - sale. The grips caused a blister on my finger, but my hands are smaller. Did the job, but only wanted them to cut a 18" x36" aluminum grill. Not sure if they would cut stainless with as much ease.
The locking feature self locks them if you close the handle, I found myself accidentally locking them sometimes while re-positioning the cutters. Work much better then the standard yellow handle cheapies I used to have.

I've used these to cut metal and plastic. I don't use these everyday, so haven't had to sharpen them yet. I cut an opening in the front plastic of a computer. The lines were pretty straight. They also cut the metal casing well too. The grip fits my hand well and is not too rough. I'm happy with these.

Product can cut through just about anything from plastics, sheet metals, to even thick cardboard and paper sheets. The teeth on this product do not dull easily and it can be tightened if used frequently.

Cuts through just about anything without much effort! safety clip is nearly perfect, and the springyness is great. Works better in bigger hands.

Does its job and does it well. no complaints here.

great aviation snips. Bought this to replace an old pair. I dont use them daily, but when I need to cut some chicken wire or the occasional metal stud, it does the job and I dont have to use too much hand pressure. I would buy these again.
