This problem may be different for others though. Since the cost is not outrageous they are definitely worth a try and if not try the Lenox snips, they are near perfect.
Straight cuts are easy; but I've found these snips also make tight curved cuts smoothly and easily. They're marketed as being able to cut up to 18-gauge cold rolled steel or 22-gauge stainless steel.
These snips are comfortable enough in my hand for short duration cutting. I've yet to meet a pair of metal/tin snips that were comfortable for extended cutting. For cutting of longer duration, I usually wear a pair of gloves (I find lightweight biking gloves also work well in that they're slightly cushioned at the gripping points). An added benefit is that the gloves protect your hand from the sharp edges from the sheet metal, too.
The locking feature self locks them if you close the handle, I found myself accidentally locking them sometimes while re-positioning the cutters. Work much better then the standard yellow handle cheapies I used to have.
Does its job and does it well. no complaints here.
