The design is a simpler one than my older staplers and it does not affect performance and seems to make the stapler less prone to jamming. It does have an initial load factor that requires a good deal more hand strength than my other staplers. The net result is greater penetration with the staples. I would not however recommend the Bostitch staples as their blunt ends are not as effective as other brands that have pointed tips at the ends of the staple.

I have used several hand tackers over the past 15 years of being a contractor, and this one is by far the best! It punches staples into anything from soft pine to hard oak, without over or under-driving. Plus, it is easy to squeeze the handle and quality built. Good job Bostitch!!!

I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could.
This is the best stapler I have used.
It almost always drives the staples home, the color helps you find it, the handle is comfortable.

The staples can be hard to find, it takes Powercrown Staples.

It seems like by now someone could design a stapler that uses leverage or gearing or something to require a little less force to shoot and absorbs more of the recoil. Not that this one is bad, in fact it's the best I've used, but come on... this is the 21st century!

This stapler is far better than my last one, the Arrow Powershot I tried. That one has the backward handle, so you are pushing toward the staple... makes sense, just didn't work that great.

I have a light duty Stanley staple gun that I've owned for over 15 years. I needed a heavy duty stapler and decided on this one after perusing other staplers and their reviews.

I have to say that this stapler along with the heavy duty staples made specifically for it work great and have exceeded my expectations. No regrets in purchasing this staple gun and I would recommend it without reservation to my friends and family.

I haven't tried to tack onto a medium that the staples couldn't pierce yet, including wires, unfortunately. It sinks staples reliably into every wood I've tried, but the width of the tacker is about a 1/4-1/8th inch on either side of the staple, so if you try to tack a wire into a corner it's just going to end up piercing the wire. You also have to be careful to center the wire between the notches, lest you pierce the wire by accident. Other than that, does what it says reliably.

It's a stapler, and it worked. Would I buy it again? NO. It is large and is no more functional than my yellow handle Stanley I've had for 20 years, which is significantly lighter and easier to use. It is difficult to push in - not a one hand operation. The staples are expensive and unique to this brand, and they are narrow. Why does this matter? Because it is easy to miss if you are stapling a wire or fence strand. Bottom line, I think it is too heavy too hard to push in, and overpriced. Don't recommend it.

Its not a miracle stapler.
I shot a staple to the 4x4 post went all the way in flush but not overly so.
Shot 2x staples into the kitchen table and it left a space between the crown of the staple and the table top.
USING 3/8" leg staple size.
Mine was purchased new from Amazon but looked like the retail box had been opened..

Dont Buy This One..it is a deal breaker. Sorry I cannot review its performance at this time. Do you want to know Why ? It is a proprietary stapler. In other words, it only accepts Bostitch Staples "STCR5019". If I had known this prior to my purchase. "I would not have bought it " . If your like me you want a good stapler that you can grab a box of staples off the rack and Barta Bing Barta Boom. Your good to go. well not with this stapler....You better hope that the store you just entered has Bostich Staples STCR5019.
MY advice, Do Not buy this one. Shop for a stapler that accepts generic staples. ie Arrow staples. Everybody carries Arrow Staples. and I have boxes of those. Now I had to now buy a couple of boxes of Bostitch Staples STCR5019. And I am waiting for Amazon to ship and deliver me these staples. Before I can start my project or go out and buy another stapler because the boxes of Arrow Staples I have ,will not fit this gun.... BUY ANOTHER STAPLE GUN. That Holds off the shelf generic Staples... I screwed up buying this one. But you don't know that until you attempt to load your staples and they wont fit......Now you HAVE to buy staples that fit this gun..P.S. went to home Home Depot and they do not carry the Bostitch staples for this gun. Got fed up and purchased another staple gun a "Power Shot Stapler model 5700. Cost me another $20.00 but I am now able to start my project. Need it completed before ThanksGiving..
